42 Dem warlovers voted with the repugs to "stay the course"
It is to their credit that most voted against this stupid bill, but i am waiting to see them unite for one that will end this war, this occupation. Now. No benchmarks, no "victory", no saving-face, just get the hell out. Cut and Run is the only moral option for a war of aggression.

New York Times

The House of Representatives voted, 256 to 153, today in favor of a resolution promising to "complete the mission" in Iraq, prevail in the global fight against terrorism and oppose any "arbitrary date for withdrawal" of American troops.

The nonbinding but politically significant resolution was approved with just three Republicans voting against it and 42 Democrats voting for it. The measure also expresses gratitude for the valor and sacrifice of American and coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and congratulates the new Iraqi government.

This morning's vote, coming after an emotional and partisan debate, was a victory for President Bush, who has declared that it is in the national-security interest of the United States to stay in Iraq until that country is secure. It was a victory, too, for the House Republican leadership.

"Retreat is not an option," Representative John Boehner of Ohio, the Republican leader, said just before the vote.

But Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic minority leader, called the Iraq war "a grotesque mistake" during the debate over the resolution.

Here is the list of Democrats who have no business being Democrats. May their careers go to hell. Without even a handbasket.

See the traitors to war-madness in italics in the yea votes. It is a mark of shame.

3. I'm not sure... people say these people got no spine... they
are standing against the feelings of many people in this nation. I think the anti-war stance would be even greater if you didn't have such hesitance among Dems to support it.

I think many dem unLawmakers put themselves at risk by Supporting the war. So cowards/wimpy is not what i would call them.

6. I call them cowards/wimpy and the GOP too!
The GOP is using the troops and the "War on Terror/Iraq/Afganistan/..." as a shield. As I posted earlier today, they're no different than the criminal that grabs the nearest by-stander for cover. They're scared shitless and it's made them incapable of even considering a solution for protecting the troops, saving lives, and long range sight to protect America.

Those Dems that voted in caved to a political stunt; they knew it was a political stunt and they played along. It was a non-binding, GOP, closed debate resolution. They should have voted no and gone out on the campaign trail saying, "All the Republicans want to do is play political games; I take the privilege of serving the People seriously. My "No" vote was in support of the troops, in support of the people, and in support of taking our jobs seriously."

2. Each and every one of them needs to be voted out of office.
Send 'em packing! They don't represent Democratic interests, they aren't contributing anything to the strength of the party. They are a big part of the problem, they are responsible for the "mixed message" people see from the Democrats.

Get 'em out of office, find some people who will do what their constituents want them to do - for a change!

7. Getting re-elected is on their minds...
They're afraid of being laughed at. Cut and Run is Rushspeak for "You have a small penis and no balls." This vote shows the have Balls enough to send me to their deaths. I am gushing at their leadership!

After all those Dems aren't beholden to the people but to getting re-elected.

But here is the Thinkprogress take on what Boehner was able to do: http://thinkprogress.org/2006/06/14/boehner-memo/

Wave the bloody shirt of 9/11 a bunch of times, claim the Democrats are prone to "waver endlessly", have a "weak approach", and create a false dichotomy between the strong Republicans and the Democrat Party "that sheepishly dismisses the challenges America faces in a post- 9/11 world."

"Of course the people don"t want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
--- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials.

I mean, after all, by the title itself Declaring that the United States will prevail in the Global War on Terror, the struggle to protect freedom from the terrorist adversary I know we will win...
