I am opposed to a timetable for withdrawing from Iraq
I think we should just get the hell out. Next week would be soon enough.

I'm afraid that if we gradually started to withdraw our troops, the one who are left behind would be like sitting ducks. We don't have enough troops to do the job right now, what would happen if we cut that number down to 3/4, or 1/2? Bring them ALL home now.

1. either a timetable or just getting the hell out now would probably stop

2. Do it sector by sector
That way there won't be any troops in a particular area that are sitting ducks. It will be visible evidence that we are leaving. The troops in safe sectors can be moved to more dangerous sectors until they can be removed all at once from those sectors. Setting benchmarks that are required to be met within a particular time, and troops removed as those benchmarks are met, is the only way to guarantee our troops come home. The benchmarks are actually deadlines for Bush more than the Iraqis.

3. Getting out of Iraq
We should just leave and let all those coalition troops take over. I'm sure the Brits would like that.
