Who do the DLC/New Democrats think is going to work "on the ground"
for them in '06 and '08 if they cut off their "Grassroots Activists?" If they keep attacking the Howard Dean reformist wing of the party who is going to be out there knocking on doors?

They may think they can sit back and rake in the "Fat Cat Money" hire Bob Shrum and the usual failed flunkey/lackey's...because they think Bushies are imploding on their own...but how do they know that will win seats back? Do they really care as long as the Machine is fed from election to election and they can stick the money in their consultants pockets and collect money for their Think Tank activities?

Haven't we learned anything in over a decade of failed election after failed election?

1. No, they don't learn
See, they won in the 90's and therefore know how to win for all of time. That is how they think.

4. The DLC of the early 90s was not like the DLC of today
today's DLC is very right wing.

7. I wouldn't call them right wing because they're not
I would, however, call them conservative and that is exactly how they are acting.

Conservatives, you see, are incapable of change. They see change as a threat to their sense of control.

The DLC honestly believe that careerists are the only voters worth talking to, that the people with jobs will look up to them and simply follow along, and that the best way to reach careerists is through TV ads financed by corporate money.

The fact that their strategy has lost the party all 3 branches of government isn't the fault of their message, their chosen medium, or their strategy, you see. It's the fault of an apathetic public that is too stupid to get it, the fault of people like Dr. Dean who insist on alternate strategies, the fault of the party left (said with a sneer) and their muddying of the message.

The DLC can be compared to Eisenhower Repugs, and some of them undoubtedly were such animals at some point. They're decent enough and they're generally preferable to the PNAC radicals and religious nutjobs on the right. However, their principles are pure mush and their focus is myopic, missing a full 80% of the people who live in this country and are eligible to vote.

They're not evil, they're just WRONG, and they need to sit this one out.

9. I know...what you say is important: "DLC ...Eisenhower Repugs" and
to move on from there..

So many of their policies "Hurt People." One needs a balance between "Business and People's needs" and the DLC in it's founding DID TRY to address that...but NOW we have such a CORRUPT SYSTEM...that it's hard to tell the "good guys from the bad guys" and most of us who fall "Inbetween" can't find any "common ground" withe EITHER!

What are we to do...those of us who can't find "common ground" right now with either Parties "mouthpieces?"

:-(

3. They Don't Want the Ground, They Want the Penthouse
"D"LC, Inc. has almost no membership, and doesn't want one. It is a lobbying firm for (Republican) donors and sponsors--that's it. As they lose their control over the Democratic Party, it is going to get ugly, and they are going to start trying to destroy people. They have had pretty much a free ride up to now, they lost the country for us, and it is now over. It is going to get uglier; think "their Republican friends" for a clue as to their tactics.

when you take a step back, and view the dlc as the republican dino infiltraitors trying to rot the party from within that they are-

everything starts to make A LOT more sense.

6. The 42 House DLCers who today voted for Bush's war
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 02:48 PM by Robbien
believe they can vote with the GOP/lobbyists in order to rake in lobby money and nevertheless Democrats will vote for them because they have a D after their name.

You see thread after thread here on a daily basis set up by a DLCer who heaps scorn on any DUer who dares to say they will not support a DLCer.

8. Who will do the DLC`s work on the ground?
Why, us of course. We`ll eventually see the error of our ways and get in line. After all, according to the DLC, we`re the party`s resident nutcases. The fringe. The Way-Out-In-Left Field-ies.

11. I sure as hell won't go door-to-door
endorsing an oil-invested, drug-warrior, workfare-fantasizing, "moderate" piece of shit. He'll have my vote as the lesser of two evils, but he sure as hell would not be welcome in my home.

12. It's hard to do this once again........but how do we get more folks
involved when we are offering the "Same Old/Same Old" message and are being attacked by our own Party?

How long can we still "BELIEVE"...in Truth, Honor, Integrity, Rule of Law, Constitution, Social Justice and Human Values????

It all seems kind of corrupted by SPIN DOCTORS...on both sides...:-(
