Since when does it qualify as good news that your top guy wasn't indicted?
All the news over the past few days has blathered on and on about how Bush is having the best week ever.

In a week where (1) US soldier casualties reached 2,500 in the Iraq quagmire, (2) Bush hectored a blind reporter for wearing sunglasses, (3) the Dow Jones dipped to the same level it was at 5 and a half years ago when Fox News crowned Bush emperor, and (4) Bush's speech writer for the past 7 years abruptly quit, how does this qualify for Bush's best week ever?

Since when is it good news that your most trusted adviser barely escaped indictment? How come now that Zarqawi has been killed, he was a "mastermind," but JUST LAST MONTH Zarqawi was "incompetent" because we found a video where he needed assistance to fire his weapon? (link: <http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0605/04/lol.02.html>).

How is it possible that a sane person could call this week Bush's best week ever?

1. Welcome to "Bush in Wonderland"
where reality is but a dream and fantasy becomes reality.

Remember to do as they say, not as they do.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Trust them.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

6. Well, it isn't only the rove thing
You also have to remember the huge 1% boost in bush's approval rating. It's been one awesome week for the republican party. :eyes:

9. When you can use it to make the opposition look like imbiciles...
Rove not indicted isn't good news.

Democrats squawking and gloating about Rove's supposed indictment and then being proved wrong is good news.

11. Welcome to the Flexible, Sliding Republican Frame.
- Infinitely Adjustable
- Can be Changed Daily
- Able to Make Imbeciles Seem Smart
- Changes Bad News into Good
- Misleads Every Time
- Manipulates Americans Consistently (35-70% Guaranteed)
- Immune to Rational Arguments (since it's not based on the real world)
- Frustrates Liberals and Other Rational/Real-World Thinkers
- Guaranteed Effective No Matter How Apparently Absurd!
- Praised By Republican Masterminds such as Karl Rove (a key developer; so this is a biased testimonial--the best kind!)

13. The Whole Point Of Spin...
Bad is good. We've known that for a long time. The difference is that KKKarl is a master of spin like few have seen. There won't be another KKKarl for a generation.

15. Great Carville quote about the 1% bump.
From the Today Show w/Campbell Brown

CARVILLE: Yes. You know, yes. I mean, it's -- it's kind of -- it's kind of a pitiful thing. This is the biggest one point jump in an approval rating in the history of American politics. If he ever got to 40, I think Norah O'Donnell and her colleagues would have a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue for him. This is wild. He's at 37 percent and his top aide didn't get indicted. What a week for this administration! Then we wake up this morning, we see in the paper that -- that confidence in Iraq's -- in Iraqis and their government is plummeting. Oil production is below pre-war levels. Electricity is below. The number of insurgent attacks are up. But look, it is good we got this guy out. I just -- for the life of me, he goes from 36 to 37 and we're about to declare a national holiday in this country. You talk about the soft bigotry of low expectations. I -- I can't imagine that we're sitting here with NBC's own poll showing -- showing the president --
