FEMA To Cut Cash Payments To Disaster Victims ($2000 down to $500)
If only the feds were this quick in investigating and putting a halt to
the corruption in chimp's regime..like all the $$/contracts chimp's cronies have gotten after he invades/occupies/"rebuilds" a country.

FEMA is cutting back on the amount of cash it will give to future disaster victims in a nod to the rampant fraud that followed last year's hurricanes.

Instead of using debit cards worth $2,000, FEMA Director R. David Paulison said Friday, victims will only be able to withdraw about $500 for food, clothing, shelter and transportation costs.

"We went out and gave people $2,000, and obviously a lot of those people did not live in Louisiana, did not live in the devastated areas, weren't who they said they were," Paulison told reporters in Washington.

He said FEMA has a new identity verification system in place for this year's storm season that will help ensure the cards are issued to victims and not people trying to cash in on a disaster.

1. Ah yes, blame the refugees
When most of the fraud was committed by FEMA employees and contractors blame the people who had lost everything and still haven't gotten any REAL help yet.

4. The $2000 was a setup all along
That is what I thought when I first heard they were giving away debit cards. I knew there would be fraud & excess and the Hooter's champagne would get more press than the billions squandered by 'contractors'. Rich white men stealing isn't near as newsworthy as a story about Hooters. Did anyone notice that the incidents they cited were of the salacious nature, Hooters, Sex change operations, "Girls Gone Wild" videos, etc? They really know what gets air time.

When they said Hooter's was giving back the money for Dom Perignon I thought, what about the cruise line deal, or the portable trailers rotting in a field in Arkansas? Are they giving the money back? That was theft as much as someone using their debit card for items of their choice. Instead of fixing FEMA it looks like they want to phase it out.

7. Rather than figuring out a way to reduce the number of people making

fraudulent claims, they're just cutting the amount to $500 with just as many fraudulent claims being made in the future?

That's the best they figure they can do? (of course it is - * has gutted all the competent FEMA workers who left out of frustration with the incompetence of cronies appointed to lead FEMA. People here criticize FEMA, but FEMA under Clinton was quite effective - it was dramatically changed from what it had been before Clinton. It's FEMA under * that's a joke.
