WASHINGTON, June 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- Priests for Life, recently recognized as one of the top 20 Christian political organizations, announced today that it is leading an 18-week prayer campaign to prepare the nation for the 2006 elections.

“This is a double-novena, a pair of nine-week periods of prayer, starting on Tuesday the Fourth of July, and concluding on Tuesday, November 7, which is Election Day,” explained Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life.

“The intentions of the campaign are that citizens take an active role in the elections and understand that the most important issue is abortion,” Fr. Pavone said.

A special website, www.PrayerCampaign.org, has been set up for the prayer campaign. People are invited to say each day a prayer specially composed for the campaign. The prayer can be found on the website, and visitors can indicate online their intention to participate.

To accompany the campaign, Priests for Life is also publishing a booklet called “Ten Easy Steps to Voting with a Clear Conscience.”

2. And yet, killing Iraqi children is of no apparent concern.
Go figure. The killings we all agree on aren't "the most important issue."

6. I'd like to announce the counter-prayer campaign
I invite every person in the world who believes it's equally as important to care for the born (and neglected or ignored), as the unborn to say a prayer of their choosing twice a day from Tuesday, the Fourth of July, to Tuesday, November 7th. When you're not praying, be sure and sign up in your precinct to do whatever you can to get the vote out on November 7th.

Maybe I should get a website. How about "Humans for Sanity in Government"?
