Rove has put aides on notice that his focus is also Bush's legacy

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/16/AR2006061602015_pf.html

<snip>

Beyond campaigns, Rove has put aides on notice that his focus is also Bush's presidential legacy. At a meeting of senior White House staffers this month, one official recalled, budget director Rob Portman suggested in the course of discussing some issues that time was limited. "We've only got so much time left," Portman said.

"Wait," Rove interrupted. "We've got a lot of time left. Jack Kennedy's whole presidency was 2 1/2 years."

4. Rove had better live up to every single bit of his reputation...
as a genius and a miracle worker if he wants to put a shine on the Chimp's legacy.

I swear I think the whole lot of them are delusional.

6. Didn't these assholes constantly hound Clinton about his legacy
in his last few years in the WH. "All Clinton cares about is his legacy. Blah blah, fucking blah."

Their hypocrisy is staggering.

7. Lipstick on a GOPIG
Does not matter how much lipstick they put on this PIG. He is going to go down as the worst president in modern times. Maybe the worst president ever!

I would hazard a guess that the liberal / reality based community is going to persue him even after he leaves office to make sure that history records the true heinous facts of this Misadministration.

10. This smells of revisionism. Classic - as in Stalin rewriting history.
Only in this case - they are writing it before it happens.

What do you call this? Preemptive history creation?

The more I think about it the more diabolical the whole right wing/neocon/theocon movement appears. Not that it it did not seem evil and twisted before - but anyone who even thinks about the implications of writing your own history before it has played out cannot help but be concerned. Or drink more kool-aid.

11. You're right, Karl. Dubya does have 1,000 days to get us all killed.
That may well be the historical parallel you're looking for. But, Bush doesn't have the brains to find a way out of a crisis.

12. Bush's Leagacy. Two words that send me into howls of laughter.
He will have a wonderful legacy with his 27% fast diminishing hard-core lemmings. Their will be many books published by Regery and Harper-Collins that will tell us how incredibly successful he was as a leader. The first author out of the box will be ________________??????

Can you imagine the outline of Rove's plan? SOMEONE should start preparing their parody version.

15. Why didn't Bush sue Kitty Kelly
Remember during the 2004 elections, Ms. Kelly published a scathing revelation of the Bush dynasty... If it were lies, why not a slander suit against her? I have never heard or seen such a lawsuit...

16. The Bush Admin. will be the example of what happens when
dim-witted, morally bankrupt idealogues take control of the government and there is no oversight. That's been the running theme throughout this administration.

Sorry Karl, but no amount of cheesy PR is going to change that.
