Is Congressman Owens a Communist??

Hey everyone,

I was on google and came across this article. The YCL (Young Communist League) had their convention and Congressman Owens apparently gave a speech at it. Does anyone know if he is a communist???? I am going to a fundraiser this week for Bernie Sanders who is openly socialist and former congressman Bonior and John Conyers are supposed to be there so I guess it is possible.....

Btw, Major is retiring at the end of this Congress, one of the candidates running for his open seat is his son, Chris. Normally I'd be opposed to a legacy candidate. But with a platform like his, which includes ending the war and impeaching Shrub, I'm prepared to let it slide just this once.

3. PWW routinely highlight Dem congresspersons

If you read PWW on a regular basis, it would not be unusual to see a PWW article casting a favorable light on a Democratic representative. Not that all Repugs are automatically villified there.

Wasn't it Reagan who claimed MLK was a communist even though he signed off on the bill for the MLK holiday?

Often there are similar objectives which intersect between communist and socialists and the main political apparatus, which typically is either a Dem or Republican. If I lived in NYC, it would be nice to have the backing of the CPUSA and the socialist groups that are a force in those districts.

I just can't believe he gives speeches to the Communist Party and the GOP doesn't scream bloody murder about it is all...I wasn't trying to Bash him. I am a Social Democrat and a member of Democratic Socialists of America so I am quite left wing myself.
