CBC: Jihadist video aimed at Muslim youth
CBC News has obtained a copy of the video allegedly handed out by one of the Toronto bomb-plot suspects in the parking lot of a local mosque.

Muhammad Robert Heft, a Canadian convert to Islam, said he was given a copy of the video by Fahim Ahmed, one of 17 people arrested on June 2.

The video offers a chilling glimpse inside the jihadist mind and is intended as a wake-up call to Muslim youth in Canada.

"Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah," says the voice on the tape, "and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of taghout, evil."

1. CBC has really gone downhill...
"allegedly distributed by Ahmed" who is "allegedly charged with terrorism" for "allegedly receiving 3 tons of ammounium nitrate provided by the RCMP" while "allegedly in a terrorist outfit" that alledgedly made so much noise drinking and partying at their alledged 'terror camp', the locals called the police who allegedly want to storm Parliament and cut off the Prime Minister's head.

Yeah CBC...you go get dem 'terrah-ists' and maybe if you do a real good job, the Tory pricks won't cut your budget too much...

2. I thought the headline was accurate.
And I think the fact that the tape is out there is quite newsworthy.

I think all the "allegeds" were necessary to provide context.

Maybe I'm wrong, though. What instances have you seen of the CBC having "gone downhill" in an effort to appear artificially vigilant on terrorism?

(BTW, I crossposted this in the Canada Forum, too.)

4. Might be...
Yes...the tape exists and YES a guy (white, convert) in a parking lot said it was being handed out by one of the defendents...no proof offered of course and no attempt by the report to even suggest there is a connection between the charges, the alleged actions or anything other than the usual attempt by media to make a serious insinuation attacking an identifiable group without providing any details.

In fact the central thesis of whether there is even any active recruitment by SMERSH is entirely the claims of Canadian intelligence services. But of course there should no question that the media might be manipulated like a hundred times before or that they might have their own agenda.

Yes Tuvor--if it appears and the press decides to report on it, then it makes it 'newsworthy'--doesn't make it true, only newsworthy.

3. The defendants haven't been convicted yet, hence the "alleged"
