Seems like a pattern, eh? Is this the jerk-off who was interviewed on the morning shows a few months back?

7. Time for him to go back on "Today" to bravely defend Iraqi war
The Bush family is shameless. Absolutely shameless. Few brain cells, as well. Would that Pierce Bush (Pierce? It works for Brosnan, otherwise stoopid), would be in Iraq, a war he so desperately supports. I was going to say his useless life should have been forfeited rather than one of the two soldiers tortured for Uncle George, but I won't.

17. It would be interesting
if the ghosts of Archie and Teddy Roosevelt Jr, sons of a Republican President, could haunt this little person. Both were killed in battle-Archie's plane was shot down in WWI, and Teddy died while leading men ashore at Normandy (I believe he also earned the Congressional Medal of Honor).

25. And many, many served. Remind me: Which Bush is in service now, again?
Eisenhower. Grant. Lincoln. FDR. All and many, many more had (usually) sons who served. With honor. And many didn't serve, and that's fine, too, and (I am channeling Lewis Black here now) so long as you weren't a talking head SUPPORTING A FUCKING IMMORAL WAR AS A 20 YEAR OLD FRAT BOY, WITHOUT PUTTING YOUR OWN SMUG SPOILED ASS ON THE LINE.

31. Where is America's outrage?
Lincoln didn't allow his son to enter the ranks until he was finished with college, and he was repeatedly rebuked for this--his son was savaged in the papers, called "The Prince of Rails" and called a shirker and worse. Now these idiots are looked up to--for their "support" and "expertise" about the Iraq war?????? My Civil War ancestors (and Lincoln, for that matter) must be rolling in their graves.

32. No, it was Mary who kept Robert out - not President Lincoln.
Mary was desperate to keep Robert out of the war; because of the pressure (that the Bushes laugh at; family serve? Phhhh), finally, late in the War Lincoln asked Grant if he would take Robert on as a member of his staff, which he did. Abe had a very distant and strange relationship with his father, refusing to visit him on his deathbed, despite a direct request. He (Thomas) was known to beat Abe, but I wonder if Abe wasn't sexually abused on the frontier. Nobody claims that! It just fits. Or, he may have just been ashamed of his father, who never wished to advance himself like Abe. Perhaps no one ever has had Lincoln's drive; he had, as his law partner Herndon said, "a little engine that knew no rest."

Please visit this Lincoln website. I will start to pound the drums, and Shrub won't be in office then. Spread the word: http://www.lincolnbicentennial.gov/

It goes without saying, thank you for your post.

41. Thanks for the clarification
I knew Lincoln had kept Robert from enlisting because of his wife; he told one intimate that he felt his wife was insane. And, since you are obviously a Lincoln aficionado, you also know that Robert did institutionalize his mother when she moved back to Illinois. An old but good book to read is "Mr. Lincoln's Wife". Don't know if there has been any revisionist history written about Miss Mary Todd as there has been about her husband.

As for Thomas Lincoln, I don't know if he beat his son, but he abused him in other ways that are documented; he made fun of his "book learning" and he deserted his children when their mother died, heading back to Kentucky to find another wife-without telling them what he was doing. I think Lincoln was under ten, and his sister Sarah only a year or two older. The death of a mother and desertion of a father at such a young age had to be a severe emotional trauma.

13. Isn't there something - anything - we can do to dis this shitfaced punk?
He is apparently on something called "Facebook," and I am too old to know about that but never too old to be morally repulsed. Anybody at the University of Texas? What about the campus newspaper? He doesn't give a damn, but maybe others, especially those whose 20 year old brothers and sisters have been blown up in Iraq, might get it about the Bush family.

19. Guys...
I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I have to say it. He's a 20 year old kid. Give him a break. So you have pictures of him doing what other normal college kids do...go to a party, drink, hang out with wierd people. Big deal. So he publicly supported the war on TV? So what! Not his fault Uncle is the president. Other 20 year olds support the war too but don't have family pressure to do so on TV. If 10 years down the road he's in congress doing and saying stupid stuff, then this might be relevant. Right now, he's a kid.

22. Kids are being blown apart. Every Bush advantage. And can't shut up.
What is this, "Rich boys will be Rich boys?" Do you think he got on TV for support of the war because his last name is Smith? This is about common decency, not Bush hatred. A quality that the vocal supporters of the war seem to promiscuously lack. I took responsibility as a poor anonymous guy for my opposition to Vietnam at 20 years old. Pierce Bush is more than happy to enjoy Bush wealth and fame, and to be a voice FOR the war, and let others fight it for him, and he is ABOVE CRITICISM? I think you need to rethink on whose behalf you extend sympathy, my friend.

26. No, he's not above criticism at all.
The whole supporting the war but not fighting in it is a valid criticism in my book. If he was spouting off about morality and family values, then I think these pictures would be valid as well. Just my opinion though.

36. let me clarify...
I didn't state that clearly. If he's in congress and spouting off about family values, morals, etc, then he's being inconsistent with his actions and that's cause for criticism. I hope that addresses your concern...if your concern is the "10 years" part, that was just a random number.
