McCain is scaring me
He has the hots for Iran and he says the U.S. will continue to kill innocent people in search of terrorists - 'we are sorry but oh well we gotta do it basically'.

I don't want McCain as the GOP nominee anymore.

I used to think he wouldn't be so bad, but he is a nutcase just like the rest of em'!

1. I used to like him, once.
My eyes have since opened. His behavior during the last pres. election was appalling.

5. I used to at least respect the man...
but when he sold his soul (especially after what the GOP did to him) he lost my respect. His behavior throughout the election campaign was pathetic.

Peace.

19. Same here. I mean after all....
He continues to be in bed with BushCo, after what they did to him and his family.

Sometimes I question whether McCain respects his own family.

Most men in politics will say "I'm fair game, but leave my family alone."

11. McCain = Invertebrate
After the way * & co. treated him (and especially his wife and daughter) in the 2000 primaries for him to support anything they do simply tells me that the man lacks a spine. Perhaps more was done to him in the Hanoi Hilton than he is letting on?

He's no different from the gang of thugs now in control. He should be oppossed as much as a third term for little hitler.

On edit - I would never, EVER, vote for a republican in my life after what I've seen from them in this regime. EVER!

17. Also said if it makes all of us have to PAY MORE FOR GAS...TOO BAD!
...it's gotta be done...WTF? This is democratic campaign commercial material!

McCain will be the GOP nominee, because he's the only righty who polls moderate. Condi will be at his side, for veep. Think about it...women supposedly will love him because he's tough, honest and will protect their babies. Plus, he's got a woman veep. Who happens to be black, so he must be racially sensitive, and he'll bring in black voters, too.

The media is setting this all up for us. McCain was playing Brutally Honest Mr. Tough Guy today, mugging for the 2008 voters, and the media was providing him his free commercial time.

Even Republicans won't go for that for very long!! Once they start filling up their SUVs and seeing how much it's costing, they'll complain the loudest!!

You know how they are about their money....

21. Could be a desperate plea on Iran's part. They need that bomb to
get out of sanctions. Like the critics say - walking around with a stick and no carrot is just leading up to more reaching for military solutions by the opposition.

I hear that Iran has no replacement parts for their airplanes. And that is why they crash all the time. I'm still waiting for the Australians & New Zealanders to stop selling lamb to Iran.

of McCain or Bush, it was an easy choice....McCain....

but that was five years ago...since then..

McCain has gotten as crazy as bush
McCain has let Bush insult him and his family
McCain has hugged Bush and supported him.

29. I lost any respect I had for him when he gave Gonzalez a 'pass'...
When Gonzalez came before the Senate and was questioned about the use of torture and the Geneva conventions as 'quaint', I thought "surely McCain will pillory this man!" But McCain did next to nothing. He could have used the moment to blast this administration. He could have told Gonzalez that he was full of crap and so were the legal 'get out of jail cards' that he wrote for * to shield him from liability should they get burned torturing people. ("Torture means major organ failure." - JMJ!) But McCain didn't. He smiled and played ball with his cronies. I guess once * kisses you, your ethics dissolve in a wisp of smoke...

And even with these Senate riders he's attached to reaffirm our treatment of prisoners - that we do not proscribe torture - have been done quietly. He could be shouting this stuff from the rooftops! The press loves McCain and he could definitely get the air time, but he has chosen not to do that.

If he was a man of ethics, he should have been as outraged as Durbin was... Ok I'm done with my rant! :)

32. Pretty much
Or else he knows they're crazy & follows along anyway - and that's even worse. What I see in McCain is a man who's integrity is constantly at war with his ambition. There are a couple issues he'll stand firm on (like the torture amendment), but mostly he's willing to go along with the Republican agenda because he wants so desperately to be President.

37. shhh - don't tell McCain that!
You're probably right that his chances aren't that great, but that doesn't mean he won't try. In addition, he's pretty well-positioned for a VP nomination by the eventual nominee, or even for Bush if Cheney resigns. I actually think it's possible that McCain has considered this.
