Smears of Daily Kos are BULLSHIT!
So the Lieberman lovers at the New Republic, with the Right wing blogs piling on, are smearing DailyKos because Markos's co-author Jerome Armstrong, works for Mark Warner, and Markos has said some nice things about Warner. They are trying to imply without any evidence whatsoever that Markos is getting paid under the table by Jerome to support Warner. This is a bullshit SMEAR that has to STOP. You don't get to imply that people are taking payola without any evidence. It is an absolute bullshit smear that could form the basis of a libel lawsuit. We should call out this crap and make it stop NOW!

1. DKos is losing its independence to corporate sponsors, the Dem Party
Instead of being an independent muckraking place, from what I've learned. But I don't think he's being paid off by Warner or anything like that.

4. He's losing nothing. Lieberman, on the other hand, may lose his
seat at the table. I don't agree with everything Markos has to say, but he is a pragmatic Democrat who's willing to stand up to the Republican Syndicate. That's good enough for me.

2. I dont think he is paid, but for somebody who wants to destroy the DLC,
he is awfully nice for a DLCer like Warner.

I have not seen what TNR wrote because I have stopped reading them a long time ago, but why do you bother with a totally forgettable magazine like that?

5. We can't become wings of the massive political parties
We can vote for them and pressure them to be successful, I think, but becoming OF them will lose our independence as progressive people -- passions will be tempered and we will be coerced into supporting their people and agenda solely.

DKos is in danger of becoming exactly that.

8. Well, let's put it this way. Some of his stances are somewhat centrist
and he has been known to diss some progressive groups like feminists or war protesters.

So it was alittle weird when he declared war on the DLC in the first place.

But then, sometimes I think he's not much more than a kid who's gotten too big for his breeches.

7. Markos posted he is NOT on any campaign.
Jerome is on Warner's, but Markos is not. Yes, it is a smear campaign. Kos does not go out of his way to be likable, it is sort of his trademark. Jerome is not blogging, he is working with the new Democratic Strategy magazine with the New Dems.

However, since YearlyKos got so much attention, there are bloggers on the right after him, bloggers on the left after him because he is not liberal enough, and he has people who don't want Warner to succeed after him...like supporters of other candidates.

I have no opinion on Warner yet, I have no opinion on 08 unless Gore runs...and then I am most certainly in.

I think attacking our own bloggers who do make a real difference is just wrong. Much information is put forth on DailyKos, and that is very good thing.

I saw people blasting his book, and they had not even read it. That is so non-productive. It was an excellent book, though I disagreed on a few points.

9. I think you are unwittingly perpetuating the smear.
When did you stop beating your wife?
