Santorum MAKES OUR POINT!

Santorum's claim actually proves the point that there was no Iraqi WMD program after the first Gulf War. All we have found, after three-plus years, are the remnants of pre-1991 chemical shells -- all degraded and unusable as weapons.

The fact that chemists MIGHT be able to extract a little something from them actually supports the same conclusion. Saddam obviously wasn't even trying to salvage that stuff. He left it so sit and rot.

It's possible that the incompetent, Third-World no-threat army of Iraq didn't even know what they had. Or, if they DID know, they clearly had no capability to make use of it.

Yes, he does make our point, but if allowed by the media, repugs will twist the facts to their advantage. Cheney will be on the Situation Room today and you can be sure he'll talk this up, probably without a challenge from Wolfie.

It's so patently untrue and so thoroughly debunked. It just makes him look like an even bigger idiot. He's in the middle of a tough campaign and this absolutely ridiculous statement is just begging to be put mocked.

I'm not crying any tears over Santorum's stupidity but I am really mystified as to why he said this....

He's sending up fireworks all over an issue (the WMDs in Iraq or lack thereof) that this Admin has been working hard to bury.

How the hell did he get to be a Senator in the first place? I am astounded at his stupidity - his political intuition must be so fucked up.

Before Santorium came on Imus kept ripping him on this... saying, "Who cares? We're there. How do we get out?" When Little Dicky came on, Imus continued to drill him, which he almost never does with his call in people. Imus told Little Dick to admit we were wrong in going to Iraq and call for us to leave.

Dicky said no way. Usually Imus call ins get to say what they want unchallenged but this morning Little Dicky was treated as the worst thing possible.... A laughing stock.

and he will suck up as much limelight as he can...
