Hold it by the stem when drinking wine so you don't change the temp of the wine.

Are you one of those people who smell the cork and sip a taste before pouring?

I don't and I don't want anyone to tell me that I must do these things and that I have to hold a wine glass a certain way.

9. Bush is representing our country and he's a blueblood.
There's something to be said for dignified behavior and following simple etiquette in circumstances such as these. I don't care if you don't know how to hold a wine glass, but the President of the United States has no excuse.

26. There's nothing snobby about knowing how to hold a glass of wine.
There are practical reasons for it. If you're sipping a chilled white wine or champagne, holding the glass by the bowl will bring it down in temperature faster than if you hold it by the stem. That changes the way the wine tastes. If you drink your white wine at room temperature anyway it wouldn't matter.

I thought you read whats printed on the cork, to make sure it coincides with the bottle´s label, some places refill with a cheaper wine. and a sip of wine to make sure the wine has not gone off,if it don't taste right send it back

Jebus Crisco! I've held a wine glass like that myself. Really, who gives a damn. I find fault with his policies, his total disregard for diplomacy, and his lack of compassion for others. But I could give less than a shit whether he remembered the details from his Andover etiquette course.

That his wine glass actually does seem to have wine in it. Not a good thing for an alcoholic. And by the stupid look on his face he appears to have drank some too. But then again that could just be his normal stupid looking face.

I am sure they didn't serve him up a glass of $2.00 a bottle Maddog. This equates to being served by a world renown chef and asking for ketchup to put on your leg of lamb.

I'm not at all concerned about how georgie holds his wine glass, but I bet if you were at one of his Texas-sized BBQs and you asked for mayo he would treat you like shit and make fun of ya.

The eedjit's supposed to be the head of the most powerful country in the world and as such is supposed to be able to hobnob with other heads of state without looking like a backwater moron. That includes knowing how to hold a wine glass properly and...speaking properly...and um...being polite and courteous and...uh oh...

Then again, what can we expect from a guy whose father ralphed at a formal dinner in Japan...

be saintly. Whether its lies, thefts, deception, destruction of our Constitution - any criminal act and any defeciency of intellect, culture, and graciousness is excused for George - but we had 14 years of piling on against the Clintons and the Gores (and Dean).

Dems don't dwell on trite stuff like stiff necks and noses for 14 years. If it's political or legal - yes.

George is the most excused creature on the planet by his lemmings. They refrain from speaking about any mistakes.

Because of everything proceeding this - his uncouth comments and uncultured failings stand out even more. But, what will live forever will be his Bushisms. They are at the top of the list - way ahead of pulling on the jacket of China's leader or all the other gaffs.
