Akron Beacon Journal Says 2004 election wasn't stolen...
And we all better "deal with it." Political writer Steve Hoffman has an editorial in today's Beacon that says that we all better get over our conspiracy theories and do a better job reaching the voters of Ohio.

But that was yesterday and yesterday's gone
Ohio wasn't `stolen' in 2004. Deal with it
By Steve Hoffman, Beacon Journal editorial writer
Before we actually invaded the place, ``Afghanistanism'' was a term used by journalists to describe how the tone and substance of stories, editorials and columns tend to shift the greater the distance between writer and event. Thus, one may thunder at will about goings-on in some remote location without much fear of confrontation and contradiction. Move closer to home, and greater care with facts and balance usually prevails.

The term just begins to capture the flaws in a recent Rolling Stone article by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about the 2004 presidential election. His central premise (which will be two years old in November) is that John Kerry lost because Republicans rigged the vote in Ohio, the state that gave George W. Bush the electoral votes he needed to win a second term.

Maybe Kennedy should have spent more time in Ohio and less on the Internet.

For the full text of the editorial: http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/news/editorial/14875188.htm

I wonder how Kennedy would feel about the advice to spend more time in Ohio and less time on the internet? I read the Rolling Stone article, and Kennedy DID spend lots of time in Ohio. hmmmmm ....

Just wanted to let you all know that the msm in Ohio is ready to investigate!!! Only when the Republican party gives them permission, however. :sarcasm:

2. He refutes nothing in the RFK piece and revives the
debunked "reluctant responder" theory to prove his points. Then he states that exit polls chief purpose is so demographics could be studied as opposed to the traditional role of verifying results. RFK's piece was so thoroughly cited throughout but we are supposed to accept this person's sweeping opinions as fact?

When they can't rebut arguements they just lie and call names. Internet conspiracy theorists!

4. Well if the Akron Beacon Journal says it,
it must be true.

What do they have, like a circulation of 42?

7. Errr, it's SUPPOSEDLY "Democrat"
They endorsed Kerry in 2004, and I think they endorsed Gore in 2000 (too far back for me to remember clearly--too much junk has happened during the past fun 5 years). However, they are becoming more and more apologetic for the Repug propaganda.

I think that's why this disturbs me. If the Cleveland Plain Dealer (never met a Republican it didn't like) did this, I'd shrug and move on.

It appears the only genuine journalism in this state is coming out of the Toledo Blade. They broke Coingate and much of the scandal in Columbus. (It's just amazing how corrupt Repugs can be once in power)
