Could Ed Shultz talk about his show's format any MORE???
Message to "Big Eddy":

Nobody freakin cares about HOW YOU DO IT. Just do it and shut up about "how".

What pisses me off is not that sometimes you say something that i disagree with, it's that you feel the need to blab on and on about how nobody owns you and why it's okay to state your own opinion. Every time I tune in its the same damn thing.

I know you are Liberal Lite. A great entry point for Middle Democrats who are looking to also listen to Progressive talk. Fine. Not my cup of tea but i see the need for it for people like my dad so they can eventually evolve to Randi. But then DO THAT. Every minute you waste talking about yourself is one that you could spend talking about something that matters ... ie: NOT your format.

If you believe the shit you are spewing out, then stand by it and stop worrying about the invisible demon of "what everybody else thinks". There is no greater way to tell that a person is completely self conscious than hearing them say, "I don't care if you think i'm wrong."

You sound worried. You sound fickle. And all of your arguments lose strength.

We're not here to listen to your insecurities.

1. I had him on earlier,
but had to switch him off about an hour ago. Couldn't take it anymore. And here I was just comparing him favorably to Randi. So today I put Randi on and she's calm and reasonable, and it's Eddie who's going ballistic.

10. Me too
I switch between the 2 of them. I don't expect to agree 100% of the time. Today Big Ed was being a big annoying but head. Some days Randi annoys me too..some days Frankin gets on my nerves..lol...there is just no making me happy....Hey but Rush always annoys me..so...

2. I can't stand him.
He was a mouth-breathing Right-Wingnut until he realized there was MONEY in Liberal Radio.

7. that he used to be a republican doesn't bother me
I used to be one, too, so I understand how somebody can change. I don't think he's faking it.

3. I can't listen to him for long periods
I get him on right after Al Franken and the differences could not be more pronounced. From meak and mild and studious al to bombastic ed.

4. You should have switched when he opened w/ today's RW talking points.
He gets 'em out there as quick as Hannity.

8. That message is critical
The most important thing he has to say to HIS TARGET AUDIENCE is that it's okay to disagree with Republicans. It doesn't really matter what his opinions are, only that people we haven't been able to reach start remembering you're not a traitor if you consider ideas besides right wing fundie ideas.

11. That is an excellent point............
He has right wing listeners who don't realize what the right really has done, what it really represent and where it is going.

He gets the right-wing listeners attention where AAR for example could not. He basically opens the door to the left-wing position and holds open that door for the right to walk on through if they care.

13. Ed on the defensive today
somebody told him he wasn't doing his job to advance the progressive agenda. Hey, he's a talk show host, not a cheerleader, he replies. It's not his job to take sides.

Hmmmm. Why not get a job at Fox then? Since taking the progressive side is so NOT important.

If it is important, then do it right, Eddie, quit waffling with the Liebermans.
