again and again we hear, "they voted party line to keep from embarrassing
the president'

how blatantly do you have to put it that..'He is the Embarrassment'

he is in denial and will throw a Sh*t Fit if he doesn't get his way no matter how many thousands of our soldiers or Hundred of thousands of civilians he kills in Iraq.. or how many families he bankrupts with outsourcing jobs, or bankrupting and enslaving our greatgreatgreatgrandChildren..

10. I agree- one is very narrow minded to side with these Republicans.
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 06:01 PM by Dr Fate
In the manner that 31 so called Democrats did today.

16. Oh I am sorry- we call it framing the debate, not being a freeper.
Something more of us progressives should learn, BTW

17. i said freepy.. and you didnt frame a debate you attacked with an
irrivelent example..

attitude is everything... you were making an entirely different tangental point.. i was reffering to the Media spin 'Response'... not a voting record.

23. i wasn't explicit enough.. the "SPIN"...Talking Point... "Not to Embarrass..
the president" was the subject. the locke step voting against the well being of the citizens and soldiers.. is being covered with the talking point..

yes, when we vote along with them it pisses me off too. the recent non debate and vote was a non event and voting for it was a matter of necessity for some democrats who are in the next election because the bill was to trick them into not voting for it and that would have said they didn't support the 'troops'... and voting for it did nothing anyway, so they did the least damaging thing.

i was talking about the bills that took away veterans hospital money and widows money and gutted the Constitution where no Democrats voted for it..

i think the Democrats should just walk out of house and senate and stop the vote by not having a quorum.. just get up and leave the building and wait for the voting to stop them come back in.. then show up on every TV evening and morning show and explain why.. 'We have to stop the Fascist Bastards'.!!!

9. it is the spin you hear all the time on corporate news, to cover unpopular
press about voting down things like Medicare and minimum wage.. stuff that would give them bad press if there was a press at all.

i was a research Scientist.. i pick up on repeated phenomena. and this did not make any sense, but it sounded petty good to the freepers who carry the smokey torch for him still

7. The republiclowns vote the party line to repay their masters
The moneyed interests that put them there and so they will pursue their perverse agenda to the bitter end of this Congress. They are literally sucking the vitality out of America. These are not stupid people (despite all the compelling evidence to the contrary) and I cannot believe, not at this point, that they really think this Country can survive what they are willfully doing to it.

11. So why did 31 Democrats also vote with the GOP party line?
For the same reasons, or do we reserve another excuse for when they do it too?

13. I would love to have an honest retort to that, but sadly I do not...
I could spin or make something up, but plenty of other Conservative & right-leaning DUers do a good enough job of that.

The bottom line is how they voted & who they voted with- the excuses & rationalizations are useless to me.

14. Obviously for the same reasons.
I make no excuses for immoral or indefensible votes. There are those that claim deal making and compromise are the life blood of politics and perhaps that is true. It is also said if you fail to agree with that you are a zealot or a radical. So be it.

Who do we need to ream over that BS? I'm so sick of this! And you wonder why some of us struggle with being loyal Dems right now... this is why. They don't vote the talk! They don't walk the walk! They don't freaking care!

22. The Emperor's New Clothes
None of the royal suck-ups dared tell the Emperor that his fancy new clothes were non-existent, because they didn't want to embarrass him and get fired. But the commoners, one by one, pointed and laughed at the Emperor's naked flabby body.
