There person who set up the site is one Amanda P. Doss, and a quick google search turns up this site: www.operationstreetcorner.com, which is a wonderful site, as Billy found out, dedicated to: "The Vietnam Veterans' Grassroots Campaign Against John Kerry and Jane Fonda, traitors to our country." She may be tied to Jerome Corsi and some of the Swiftboaters, themselves, but we need your help. Please google around and look for associations and links. It is important and essential to pre-emp this crap before they get it out. Doss' email: amandapdoss@yahoo.com Add any new info to the comments of shoot me an email: seanpaul-at-agonist.dot.org

Update 2: Amanda Doss tied into Swiftboat liars a great deal, see this Newsmax story where she was an honoree. Scroll down.

There is also, per ElectroOverlord, a link between Doss and Tony Snesko. Doss is also a poster in Freeperland. Has she posted anything other than this at the Free Republic? More as it comes.

Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 10:30 PM by johnfunk
Check out the lying, smearboating "Murtha Must Go" blog. And leave comments -- they LOVE the criticism...

I have a nice li'l thread on the matter here. The comments really seem to get under their skin. They immediately deem it "hate" -- but look at the one comeback from an anti-right-wing Bush 41 booster who rubs their nose in their own drivel! Priceless...

3. Gawd, I hate these people and their politics of pesonal character
assassination. They love the soldier and hate the veteran. They can't argue their points on merits, so they attack the people who disagree with them on lies and smears. Their leadership are cowards, they've never fought and they can't attack directly...so they use surrogates. It is going to catch up with them.

Students sue officers over missed exams

Traffic stop, arrest caused failing grade, suit says

Associated Press

TEXARKANA - Two college students are seeking more than $500,000 in damages from two undercover police officers, the city of Palestine and Anderson County after they were pulled over and arrested for making obscene gestures, causing them to miss their final exams.

Siblings Amanda and Bryan Prewitt, both of Texarkana, contend in a lawsuit filed last week in federal court in Texarkana that they were headed to College Station in December when Amanda Prewitt had to brake her car suddenly along U.S. Highway 79 in Anderson County to avoid hitting a car with a man and a woman inside.

Amanda Prewitt made an obscene gesture at the car's occupants and continued driving, according to the suit. The Prewitts claim they didn't know the occupants were undercover Palestine police officers in an unmarked car.
While the Prewitts' car was stopped at an intersection, the officers, Shelby Green and Brenda Gray, allegedly began threatening the Prewitts and cursing at them.

The lawsuit claims Green got out of the car, didn't identify himself as an officer and approached the Prewitts' car in a threatening manner. The Prewitts drove away in an attempt to escape what they believed was a case of "road rage," court papers state. Bryan Prewitt also made an obscene gesture during the

As the Mother of a Soldier in Iraq, I am really saddened by your attempts to smear a Marine of 37 years who ministers in word and deed to our soldiers...

I am going to publicly denounce your name whenever possible as someone who smears the soldiers instead of supports them.. If you did support them, you would realize 73% of the soldiers polled in Iraq by Zogby want this war to end.. Murtha has heard this time and time again from the soldiers he ministers to...

Not only that, there is no plan on the ground, the Generals are saying it, and any man with as much experience as Murtha can see it... He is trying to save those soldier's lives and you are faulting him for that....

I believe my email will be one of many that you receive, I hope you will reconsider your stance on this as you are pulling the horns of the wrong bull this time...

Column here, as it has not been published yet:

They say that the great leaders are gone and politics has become the realm of the small-minded. But in the land of the Lilliputians, the Keyboard Kingpin must be accorded full respect.

The Keyboard Kingpin, aka Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, sits at his computer, fires up his Web site, Daily Kos, and commands his followers, who come across like squadrons of rabid lambs, to unleash their venom on those who stand in the way. And in this way the Kingpin has made himself a mighty force in his own mind, and every knee shall bow.

15. Y'all she was Amanda Prewett when arrested for flippin' the bird!
She and her brother were arrested in 1999 for flippin the bird to a police officer. I think this is the same chick, because it is a town of 65,000 I think it is highly unlikely the same chick with the same name would live there.
"Palestine police, Prewetts settle suit with $75,000

Although jurors sided with Palestine officers, the lawsuit was settled to avoid a prolonged appeals process

By LISA BOSE McDERMOTT
Texarkana Gazette

The long court battle between a pair of Texarkana siblings and the Palestine, Texas, Police Department has ended in a $75,000 settlement, court records show.

Amanda and Bryan Prewett sued the City of Palestine, its police department and one if its officers, Anderson County and an Anderson County sheriff’s deputy for violating their civil rights.

The suit was brought after the Prewetts used an obscene gesture at the officers who were undercover in an unmarked police car.

They were arrested and jailed overnight in the Anderson County Jail. During their jail stay, Amanda Prewett was strip-searched, which her lawyer, David Carter, said was unlawful.

The pair told a federal jury that they were reacting to being cut off on the highway. The officers told jurors that the pair was inciting violence and it was not clear who the gesture was aimed at.

Jurors sided with the officers and the Prewetts left the courthouse empty-handed.

However, both sides went back to the bargaining table as the Prewetts were about to launch their appeal. Both Carter and Troy Hornsby, the officers’ lawyer, say this is typical, even after a jury has issued a finding in a case.

The officers and their government employers agreed to settle the entire case for $75,000. The settlement was filed on Tuesday.

“The law was clear and the settlement saves us the trouble of having a new trial. I felt good about getting a new trial,” Carter said.

Hornsby said the settlement effectively ends the litigation between the two sides after the Prewetts threatened to seek a new trial.

“That threat along with the continuing costs of the appellate process out there factored in to the decision to settle,” Hornsby said.

Hornsby says the settlement is less money than the Prewetts had demanded prior to the federal trial.

“We are pleased with the settlement, especially the strong language in the court’s order which warns the defendants not to make the same mistake again. The primary purpose for the suit was to ensure that no other citizens spend the night in the Anderson County Jail solely because they say or do something which angers a police officer,” Carter said.

According to the court order, U.S. District Judge David Folsom found that the use of the obscene gesture directed toward the officers was considered protected free speech and officers are prohibited from retaliating against someone who uses the gesture.

Folsom also found that persons arrested for minor offenses may not be strip-searched unless there is probable cause to believe that the person has a concealed weapon or contraband on them.

The officers and the siblings first made contact on Dec. 1, 1998, when Amanda Prewett displayed her middle finger, a common offensive gesture, at an officer who was driving an unmarked black Jeep Cherokee. There were two officers in the Jeep who were working on a narcotics task force at the time and were not in uniform.

The Prewetts, who were en route to Texas A&M University for Amanda Prewett’s final exams, said the officers “cut them off” and forced Amanda Prewett to brake her vehicle suddenly. She admits to honking her horn and “flipping off” the driver of the Jeep as she went past. The officer testified that she did not think that she had interfered with Amanda Prewett’s driving.

The Prewetts said they did not know the occupants of the Jeep were law enforcement officers because they were in an unmarked vehicle and were not in uniform.

The officers testified that Amanda Prewett used the gesture twice. They contend they followed the Prewett vehicle to investigate the matter. During the course of being tailed by the officers, Bryan Prewett admitted in court that he leaned out of the passenger window, sitting on the door ledge giving the officers the gesture with both hands.

The officers say the arrest was based on the totality of the incident and that Palestine residents could have seen it since it was on a public street. They argued the gesture can incite violence and that the Prewetts had breached the peace. "

I think this is probably her.

27. Smalltownveteran.net
Jazz,
That's an interesting find. That website appears to be run by a Bill Faith of Lawrenceville, Illinois. Here is the Whois for smalltownveteran.net. Here's a blogger.com profile: of Faith http://www.blogger.com/profile/3910172 . I don't know how directly involved he is with murthalied.com but he certainly is a right-winger and he supports the people involved with it.

I think this paragraph (from here) bears quoting:

Administrative: First item of business is to get our website up and running in a credible way. Amanda Prewett Doss of Texarkana, TX, who handled the '04 campaign, has been engaged to be our website manager, and she has already purchased our domain name http://www.murthalied.com/ What we need to do now it to develop the download folder from which our volunteers will obtain the flyers that they will post on their display boards. PLEASE keep your eyes open for ANYTHING that could be used (to defeat) Murtha. For the time being, send what you find to me; I have asked a very literate friend to stand by to extract the most salient quotes for posting in large font on our display boards.

I think Doss may be secondary. Notice this say that she "has been engaged to be our website manager". That paragraph is a quote from someone name Larry Bailey who appears to be more important than Doss.

Baily is working with Mike Bradley of Vietnam Veterans for Truth. Bradley e-mail is listed as murthalied@cox.net.

This is what Larry Bailey did during the last election cycle: http://operationstreetcorner.com/osc/list.htm I understand that Mike Bradley of Vietnam Veteran's for the Truth is also supporting Larry in his efforts. This is what they did during the last election cycle: http://www.kerrylied.com/ Although these organizations are no longer active today, Mr. Bailey and Mr. Bradley have joined forces with Iowa Presidential Watch http://www.iowapresidentialwatch.com/ and are working together to do much the same thing in Mr. Murtha's 12th PA district as they did in 2004 on a national level.

I think that Baily and Bradley, and Possibly Bill Faith, are more important than Amanda Doss. She may however be of secondary importance.

I wonder how difficult it would be for someone to become a volunteer in order to get copies of those flyers. The debunking should start as quickly as possible and those flyers may be one of the first places talking points will emerge.

25. DEPARTMENT OF DUMBASS: Moron Winger posts plan to swiftboat Murtha
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 10:48 PM by johnfunk
It doesn't get dumber than this!

Here it is, bad grammar, misspellings and all:
Operation Street Corner, Vietnam Veterans for the Truth and Larry Bailey.

Sitrep (Situation Report) from the frontlines in Pennsylvania's 12th district.

Larry Bailey has a reputation. It's a reputation for getting things done, even if he has to do them himself. Working with other Veterans and activists during the last election cycle he had a very noticeable impact on those elections. How did he do it? He went to the people. He went to the streets. He's now doing the same thing in Congressman Murtha's home district. Although he is not a part of the Irey campaign, he maintains regular contact with them in order to ensure that he makes the most efficient use of the time and resources available.

This is what Larry Bailey did during the last election cycle: http://operationstreetcorner.com/osc/list.htm I understand that Mike Bradley of Vietnam Veteran's for the Truth is also supporting Larry in his efforts.

...

Do you want to see Murtha gone? Do you want to see him defeated in November? First, write a check to "Vets for the Truth" and put it in the mail. (The donations will be covered under Iowa Presidential Watch's 527 status.) Do it today. Do it now. Then ship the items requested below to the address enclosed. After that, just pass the word.

...

CORRECTION: I have just been informed that Mr Bradley and Larry Bailey have nothing to do with the Irey Campaign. I do apologize for the mistake.
Sure they don't "Boner." Sure they don't...

People who, when they had a chance to defend in America in a war they supported and promoted, decided instead that they had "other priorities" and were too afraid, now have the audacity to attack those who did serve.

And actual veterans are joining in with these people, smearing their former comrades in favor of cowards who took a "better you than me" stance on the war.
