Does Al Gore's movie show any happy ending?
I suspect it's about the pain in global warming. I also suspect that this data without a happy ending will be a loser for the Democrats.

1. Yes, if people changed.
Now, why do you think this would be a loser for Democrats?

4. I suspect this will be like guns and smoking, People do not
want to give up what they like and will use everything they can think of to prevent having to conform. The political side that is pushing this will suffer loss in support.

6. Let us know how "happy" it is to drag an oxygen tank around, m'kay?
Meantime, I'll continue to believe that in the end this is a winner for us Dems.

3. He says we can change things.
It's not all bad. We have 10 years to get it done. The credits at the end are the key.

5. YES - there are things we can all do starting the
moment you leave the theater. Check out the website if you are interested which is www.climatecrisis.net.

I found it very frightening how close we have come to truly destroying our planet but as Gore is a leader, he does give a variety of things we can do about it and gives us a timetable in which to do it. AND, I didn't know this but the hole in the ozone that I heard so much about in the 90s - that is no longer an issue due to ours and corporate actions taken in the 90s.

If it were hopeless, he wouldn't be driven to get people to look at the problems. It IS fixable but we all need to take action at every level to fix it.

9. Unfortunately I think the film's biggest flaw is it compresses the
"solution" part into what seems like a handful of minutes at the very end. It felt sort of glossed over to me.

A serious failing for a powerful film. I would have hoped something this powerful would have reserved at least 20-30 minutes at the end to outline possible solutions.

11. If something is done about it.. YES
I don't see it as bad for the democrats. IF the democrats take this matter seriously, I can see how it could e helpful on so many levels.

1) Decrease electrical usage SAVES MONEY! When replacing old appliences, light bulbs, etc. Who says we have to do without to get this done? The REPUBLICANS!

2) Create JOBS! Building better appliences, light bulbs, etc. Who says this will cost jobs? The REPUBLICANS!

Change over is kinda painful at first. Because the items do cost a little bit more. And the 'hand me downs'.. well.. they are not as effiecent as they should be. Hence, less 'hand me downs' need to be put back into circulation. And that will be PAINFUL!

Was healing the o-zone as painful and as impossible as the republicans made it out to be? No, it wsan't. THIS is the same basic concept.

THe problem with the Republicans is that Big Businesses with factorys that have a 'high' pollution, will have to do something about that. And they don't want to pay the cost of the change over. EVEN tho they will pass it down to the consumer. They don't want to include these things in the 'remodling' plans and their retrofit jobs. That is where the real fight is.

Oh, and our auto industry has done everything it can to fight making 'wussy' auto's. They want to build the big gas hogs and nothing else. BLah! I never could understand why they could not build both. We need both. If they had built the 'wussy' auto's years ago when we started BEGGING them to at least start doing research and development on them... we would have tons of them running around for the 'poor folks' to drive. Instead of the big gas hogs that they can't afford to put gas in.

Things can be done. It will not be as painful as the republicans have made out. But we need to personaly educate ourselfs about what we can each do. And realize that every little bit DOES help. And we need to force congress to enforce the businesses to take that next step.

13. You obviously haven't seen the movie
The last part of the movie shows SPECIFIC ways to keep the worst from happening. Things for us to do as individuals, as companies, as industries, and as governments.

It absolutely does NOT end on a downer. There's even a website address given at the end on where to find more information on what you can do.
