Ney (R-corrupt) stepped down from his committee post in the House?
Just heard on WJ CSPAN. Goes down swearing his innocence and is future vindication from these "false charges", and that this is just a temporary stepdown--he'll be back. He loves the institution and wants to save it's integrity. Sounds like a Delay Nosedive to me. It just amazes me that these guys, in the face of evidence to the contrary, will get out there and make a speech that they think will save their sorry hides.

1. Or better yet they just claim they learned it from
the Dem's and that makes their actions ok. Funny how it only took 30 years before once again america is faced with power mad corrupt republican party. Gee they just don't learn do they? What gets me though is how the kool aid drinkers don't get it, Nixon was wrong for spying on americans and being at war didn't matter so why do they think GW can get away with it? Remember FISA was a result of Nixon's out rages against We the People.

Last I heard, he's "in discussions" with party leadership. Maybe he's offering them coupons for gratis "freedom fries" in the House cafeteria.

On edit: Apparently a few of my brain cells still function...
Rep. Ney under pressure to resign chairmanship (CNN)
...and apparently, he DID (temporarily)...
Rep. Ney temporarily gives up committee chair (Reuters)
