While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach
International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush
Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic
prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh's treating
physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr.
Limbaugh for privacy purposes. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was
permitted to continue on his journey.

Another $20 says that an investigation will show no records of this doctor ever seeing Limbaugh in person. And a last $20 on the physician not even having a medical licenses in the state wherein the drug was "prescribed."

Anytime you hear that someone's attorney is Roy Black, that sucker's guilty.

Forget it was Limbaugh and change the circumstances: "Chuck Schumer was briefly detained by customs after his AIDs drugs were found in a bottle with not his, but his doctor's name on it. Now, who is for publicizing this type of information on anybody?

1. It's against the law to have a prescription drug that hasn't been prescribed for you.
2. As long as the prescription actually exists, you can carry it in a bottle labled "Crack". Not real smart when going through customs, but not illegal.

Is Chuck Schumer's posession of the AIDS drug in violation of his plea agreement over an earlier drug charge?

Not to mention that a vanity drug such as Viagra (or hardcore narcotics like Oxycontin, for that matter) and an AIDS drug are not even in the same universe. Or that I doubt someone in Schumer's position would ever have trouble obtaining medication, were he HIV+.

The doctor should be in as much trouble as Limbaugh. If the prescription was in the doctor's name, then 1) the doctor technically wrote a prescription for himself, which I'm guess is illegal or at the least unethical, and 2) Limbaugh was carrying a prescription that had someone else's name on it. "Privacy" my ass - if I tried that excuse I'd be the laughing stock of prison.

Fuck that "privacy" bullshit. More like "I want to keep up the appearance of being clean but I want to keep my illegal prescription addiction."

Think he went to the Dominican Republic for the hell of it, or to get these or other prescriptions? Maybe the doctor is there? And even better - pharmacists wouldn't know who the hell he was.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Rush Limbaugh was detained for about three-and-a-half hours Monday at Palm Beach International Airport after authorities said they found a bottle of Viagra in his possession without a prescription.

The 55-year-old radio commentator's luggage was examined by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after his private plane landed at the airport around 2 p.m. from the Dominican Republic, said Paul Miller, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

ICE officials found in Limbaugh's luggage a prescription bottle labeled as Viagra, a prescription drug that treats erectile disfunction, Miller said.

"The problem was that on the bottle itself was not his name, but the name of two Florida doctors," Miller said.

The matter was turned over to the sheriff's office, whose investigators interviewed Limbaugh.

"He said he had the Viagra in his possession for his use and that he did obtain it from his doctors," Miller said.

Sheriff's investigators confiscated the drugs, and Limbaugh was released around 5:30 p.m. without being charged.

However, the sheriff's office plans to file a report with the state attorney's office.

"We believe there may be a second degree misdemeanor violation, which is possession of certain drugs without a prescription, because the bottle does not have his name on it," Miller said.

A doctor had prescribed the drug, but it was "labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes," Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement.

Last month, Limbaugh reached a deal with prosecutors who had accused the conservative talk-show host of illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping pain pill prescriptions. Under the deal, a single charge commonly referred to as "doctor shopping" would be dismissed after 18 months if he complies with terms that include submitting to random drug tests and continuing treatment for his acknowledged addiction to painkillers.

explain why he's seemingly got someone else's prescription with him. Might want to rethink that "privacy" measure. Like if it's legal for one thing. And not a good way to avoid publicity for another. El Drugbo agreed to stay straight and narrow, plus going out of the country is also a probation violation without his PO's OK (as I am in the system, and I know first-hand), and using illegal prescription is a misdemeanor, and it is still a probation violation no matter how El Drugbo or Black spins it.

in the spin. Think about it. His lawyer is saying that Rush "broke the law", unless falsifying prescriptions is somehow legal in Florida. If a defense attorney (and especially one as good and slimy as Black) is admitting a crime in the spin, it makes me wonder what the "real" truth is.
