Do-Nothing Congress Prepares to Stumble out of Town for July 4 Recess
One week till July 4 recess, and when we get back, only three weeks until August recess, at which point, all bets are off for doing anything meaningful until the falll elections.
The unmet agenda is staggering -- health care, minimum wage, high energy prices, failed immigration policy, oh, and of course no oversight whatsoever on the Iraq mess and the ongoing civil liberties scandals in this country. The
Senate Dems had a good hearing today. Next year, hopefully we can hold these hearings accompanied by subpoena power. Much more about that to come.
In the face of this scanty record, this week we can expect more divisive social issues which have no chance of passing. Just another week in the GOP Congress.
