NONE DARE CALL IT BULLSHIT

NONE DARE CALL IT BULLSHIT.

I never, ever, ever watch prime time cable news because it makes me want to want to kill extremely large numbers of people. Tragically, I walked through the door yesterday and my roommate already had Hardball on. There were two people debating the issue of . . . whether or not The New York Times should be brought up on charges of treason. Seriously. Treason. For publishing an article in a newspaper. Treason. And there was Chris Matthews happily presiding over the whole thing as if this was a serious conversation that people should be having. This all taking place on a network that, allegedly, does journalism. (Video:http://images1.americanprogress.org/il80web20037/ThinkProgress/2006/morgan.320.240.mov)

It's more than very annoying to watch television reporters treat this issue like it's just another story...or worse, like it's some kind of political competition between the Bush administration and the New York Times. This is way more serious. It's dangerous. http://atrios.blogspot.com/2006_06_25_atrios_archive.html#115141616653443199

Amendment I - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791.

1. FYI That was Al Sharpton and Melonie Someone
Sharpton kicked her butt and Matthews was astounded by her. The female was off of her rocker and made a fool of herself. It wasn't that bad watching an idiot prove herself so idiotic really.

3. Tweets was "astounded" you say?
He wasn't calling for the "persecution" of the NYT?

One would think that Tweets would put his head up *'s ass for this one.

4. Nope he was standing up for journalism and he pounded
the author of a book he was interviewing to force him into answering questions about Iraq being a threat. It turned out to be a fairly positive experience.

6. Melanie Morgan, she really made a fool of herself
not to mention how bad her collagen-stuffed lips looked as she twisted them around her words of hate.

Chris did seem astounded by what a dipshit she is.

7. Matthews is odious. Your subject line is terrific. K&
Matthews doesn't value free speech because he's had not for quite a while.

I think he's on the bonus plan for ridiculous comments, and he's doing quite well;)

8. And Tom Wolfe's "tauro-scatology" is all together too coy and
bland to cut it. Sorry for the flippancy on a very serious thread, but I've been looking for a chance to quote it.

9. Bruce Springsteen dares call it bullshit . . .
and right to their faces . . . being interviewed by that bastion of fair and balanced journalism, Soledad O'Brien, last week, he responded to her question about whether musicians should be commenting about politics thusly . . .

"Well, if you turn it on, present company included, the idiots rambling on on cable television on any given night of the week, and you’re saying that musicians shouldn’t speak up? It’s insane. It’s funny."

there are still a few people in public life willing to tell the truth, and Bruce is one of them . . .

12. The meme should be...
"bush* wants to abolish a free press"

If the press must have their stories vetted by minders from the WH, then it is no longer a free press. The old Soviet Union and China come to mind.
