Sen. Oxley (R-Crook) leads drive to condemn NYT for revealing * spying
Why is the phony GOP outrage against the NYT starting to sound like their recent attacks against Truthout? Same MO.

"Clearly, a successful anti-terrorism program has been compromised," said Oxley spokeswoman Peggy Peterson, adding that her boss, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation agent, is particularly sensitive to challenges faced by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich called the resolution "a bunch of baloney" during a speech on Wednesday.

"It is about time the media did its job of protecting the public interest," he continued, citing its failure to challenge Bush administration claims that led up to the war in Iraq.

1. Yea...it's been soooo successful that OBL is still out there....
and they haven't caught any more terrorist...because you know if this administration would have caught anyone they would be in front of a camara before you could blink....attacking the media is going to backfire on them badly......

2. Is Al-Queda really so stupid
to think they're not monitoring bank transactions and tapping phones? Christ on a cracker this is a top notch hightech organization, no matter what else they may be, and they know we're doing this kind of thing. The news is that they are not bothering to get a warrant, which is our only safe guard against abuse of US citizen's rights. Just look at what happened to Rush Limbaugh for an example of this. I wonder if he thinks so highly of random searches after getting exposed as a limp-dick to the world so that we could be "safe". NOT that I oppose random searches at airports, but you see my point.
