Get out your umbrellas DU. Time to sprinkle on the Gore Parade.

Yes Yes it was a great speech and it was dead on accurate.

But the charges leveled by Gore, accurate, though they may be are not glommed on by many many democrats, including 2008 wannabes. the speech will have little if any impact.

Unless GOre makes The Sunday talk shows, and Larry King...this goes nowhere.

Unless your senators chooses to associate themselves with Gore's speech....it Geo nowhere.

Unless MSM picks it up as the lead on tonight's broadcast it goes nowhere. UNless. it appears "Above the fold"....it goes no where.

Flame me if you must...but unless this is more then a one-day story.... It will have the shelf-life of a COnyers Report.

THis has to be a point of discussion around the nation's water coolers or it was nothing more than a great speech and one soon to be forgotten.

It is up to us (and Mr. Gore) to creat a national will for a Special Prosecutor..Or are you willing to let Arlan Specter to do your bidding for you.

AP is reporting on speech: the CNN website has nothing.

1. On CNN, Kyra Phillips was glorifying the Fallujah Massacre...
She was talking with a ditzy blonde "embedded reporter" as they discussed the "difficulties" for reporters in the field...

3. To be fair to Gore, he gave us our marching orders and said it would
us as citizens who will change the present. He merely laid out what has to happen.

4. Even if all it does is give us hope
in the Democratic party, we are in a better place.

And if he runs for presidents, we are in a much better place.

5. Reckon it's up to us then
We can MAKE THEM report about Gore's speech. Just like you all here at DU MADE the media pay attention when the leader of a small town church congregation in NC banned its democratic members (East Waynesville Baptist, remember?). It was DU that blasted that story all over the world.

Don't piss on this just yet.

9. It was a call to arms and I for one will will do my part
Whatever it takes, as I once swore an oath to defend the US Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic and it is becoming more apparent every day that Republicans are the enemy of our Constitution. I am on call with the same logo I once answered to "Any time Any Place".....

10. Guess you didn't listen to the last part of the speech
the ball is in our court. Have you called/mailed your Congressional delegation demanding they support an independent prosecutor? I called and asked my repuke conman to answer me in writing to explain his actions. If he responds as I think he will, I will personally hand deliver it to the local Democrats to be used by his opponant in November.

19. I'm sure he'd be more than willing
The question is will the corporate media give him enough airtime. And the likely answer is no. The Brangelina baby will get exponentially more broadcast airtime than this remarkable speech, through no fault of Al Gore's.

15. AP is. Yahoo is. MSNBC is. But it is up to us to spread the word.
Copy the transcript and mail it to everyone on your list. Send it to the media, and to your congressmen. You are the media.

16. Part of my email to my Rep ( a Republican)
I would like to understand my Congressman's view on use of the NSA to perform warrantless surveillance on Americans.

My understanding is the Fourth Amendment expressly requires a warrant for surveillance activity as a protection for all Americans to enjoy against the onerous power of an unchecked executive, whether that executive is in Washington or City Hall or a local police precinct.

The President has observed that his first obligation is to protect the Homeland. Yet his Oath of Office calls upon him to first protect and defend the Constitution.

Do you support the President in this matter?

Please do not reply with a response which focuses on the need for Homeland Security. I do not depute the need to protect the Americans here and abroad. I have no problem with wiretapping anyone with suspected ties to Al Qaeda. My question goes specifically to whether or not you feel the President is entitled under the Constitution to authorize warrantless surveillance on Americans?

Is not obtaining a warrant Justifiable?

If you are not sure, would you support Congressional Hearings into this matter as an issue of grave Constitutional consequence?

If the Congress finds that the President intentionally ignored FISA would you support a motion of censure? If he continues to act in such a manner would you support an impeachment investigation?

Do you believe this matter necessarily demands the involvement of a special Prosecutor, since the AG has endorsed these actions so publicly?

I look forward to your response.

18. Well, each of us need to tell at least 5 people
about the speech. Tomorrow, search CSpan, get the link (it takes about 24 hours to get on the site), and email the video link to your address book. Include a note saying to contact local media about the story, and have them send the info to their address books.

For those of us with computer and printers, print 5 or ten copies of the transcript, and pass those on.

The 4th Estate is no longer doing their job, if we want the information out there we must do it ourselves.
