WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The following are remarks by President Bush to the Travel Pool:

Washington, D.C.

9:00 A.M. EST

THE PRESIDENT: It seems fitting on Martin Luther King Day that I come and look at the Emancipation Proclamation in its original form. Abraham Lincoln recognized that all men are created equal. Martin Luther King lived on that admonition to call our country to a higher calling, and today we celebrate the life of an American who called Americans to account when we didn't live up to our ideals.

Allen, thanks for having me. I would strongly recommend our fellow citizens come to this house of archives -- a house that archives a lot of our important documents. It's really an amazing place; it's really fascinating. I appreciate you and your staff, thanking you.

All right, thank you all. See you later today.

2. Speanking of amazing...
...its amazing how you let the nation down on 9/11. After having received 52 advance warnings, and two specific notices that the USA was under attack, you sat in that Florida classroom reading My Pet Goat for half an hour and did NOTHING to defend our nation.

Now that's amazing. Please explain your abject failure, Mr. Bush.

i thought that was in the Constitution-

like right here-

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. very closely at the Emancipation Proclamation either-

I just can't believe how ignorant he is !!!-

Even my 12 yr old knows the difference between the 2 documents.

6. The one thing I'll never forget
is one time when Mrs. King was giving the White House a protrait of her husband and Bush's response. His voice was so weird and moderatley cold. Try to find it on the White House site if you can. It really scared me quite frankly.

THIS TIME AND HAS NEVER SEEN THE "EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION". HIS FATHER WAS A PRESIDENT , HE DIDN'T SEE IT THEN. THE DUMMY IS GETTING READY TO SPEAK SOME LIES NOW AT THE KENNEDY CENTER TRIBUTE.

10. he didn't read the right document-
no where in the Emancipation Proclamation does it say "All men are created equal"-

That is in the Constitution. That worthless peice of paper- that he doesn't have much respect for.
The Emancipation Proclamation declares all slaves are now 'free'.

What a dolt- i'm no brain trust, but you can bet if i was pres, i'd know the difference

he was just putting on his glasses and taking them off, and getting some photo-ops for his Bushit library. While he is at it he can put in the one the other day, when he was posing with the confederate flag behind him.

Why is it that everything out of this guys mouth sounds like a 7th grade book report?

And nobody ever comments on that very large elephant in the room. Kind of like the jaw sliding thing.

It's not only quite obvious to anyone watching him, but golly, it's even obvious that Al Gore DOESN'T do involuntary things with his mouth.

The Mancipation Doclimation was for the darkies and Martin Luther was a darkie. So why shouldn't he go there? Makes sense to me!

That's their "logic." Like I said in another post, wouldn't it have made more sense to read "I Have a Dream" than the Emancipation Proclamation?

That's very telling, in and of itself.
