2008 Poll in MA: McCain 44% Clinton 43%,
"Could John McCain (R) Beat Hillary Clinton (D) in Massachusetts? The latest Rasmussen Reports election poll in the Bay State shows McCain wresting 44% of the vote to 43% for Clinton. The numbers are identical for a hypothetical contest between McCain and Al Gore (D)."

"As a practical matter, this very blue state probably won't run red in the next presidential election. While a McCain-Clinton and McCain-Gore match-ups are a toss-up, the survey also found that when asked about a generic match between unnamed Republican and Democratic candidates, the Democrat wins 53%-22%."

Rasmussen is a known Repub, so take this with a grain of salt. I have yet to see any indication that "frontrunner" Clinton would do well in a general election. Regardless, she would sure as hell gets my vote over pretend moderate McCain. Especially if Jeb Bush is his VP (as some want). McCain would be the oldest person ever elected president, and I have no confidence in his health. I would be very wary of his VP choice.

1. Another Bush hugger...
A vote for McCain is a vote for eternal war and occupation of the Middle East and Asia Minor.

5. WHY are these two being pushed on the public?
The powers that be obviously want a McCain/Clinton election - the people have nothing to say about it. Why even have a primary? By the time they roll around, the American public will be brainwashed into thinking they're the only choices.

6. The people are definitely picking those two in polls
And it is all because of name recognition, and the desire for people to vote for the person they think everyone else is voting for.

I think that if Kerry wouldn't not have won Iowa, he would not have swept the rest of the primaries the way he did. Never underestimate the miniscule amount of thought that goes into a vote.

8. I don't want to see Hillary nominated; McCain...
I finally got a centrist Democrat friend of mine to stop saying how much he liked McCain. Of course, I can't take all the credit. McCain did a fine job discrediting himself.

9. Is it possible to tell them apart?
Both are ambitious politicians willing to pander to the mythical "middle" while displaying a talent for fence straddling on the issues. The ones that count, that is. But, quite vocal about the non-sensical or "popular" ones like flag-burning.

15. If you look at their complete voting record, it is easy to tell them apart
The people who only get their news from the TV might have trouble telling them apart though.

10. This McCain/Hillary Shit Is Ridiculous.
Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 11:43 AM by Dinger
THIS early, and they're still pushing this shit?!?! You know the helluvit is, Hillary might be great, but the media has been so effective in pushing Hillary 24/7, and the repugs obviously "adore" her, that they are killing her candidacy. I thought she was smarter than that.
This isn't even posturing, it's propaganda being put out there for a purpose. I'm sick of it. I STILL don't know if Hillary is a wolf in sheep's clothing or a sheep in wolf's clothing. I can't rely on the "MSM" to help me decide, which is why I read DU whenever I can.

13. I know that I'm of the mind-set that whoever the media wants, I
absolutely don't want and whoever the media ignores is probably the best candidate.

Which is why I'm still a Clarkie. :7

14. Let's worry about 2006 before we start worrying about 2008.
Let's take back at least one house of congress this fall, first.
