Solar Energy
Has anyone had a solar hot water heater installed in their home? Do you have any recommendations? Cautions?

1. I had solar hot water installed in my last home in the 70s
back then there were tax brakes that help cover some of the cost. I had it done by a professional. it also required a large holding tank and preheated the water before it went in to a gas water heater but it did cut my costs by about 20% to 25%. Make sure you have enough sun to make it worth it.

3. We have a tankless water heater, which has been very
cost efficient. A better place to ask this question though is the energy forum. I have found the information on questions I have asked there to be most helpful. (very knowledgeable!)
