7. Yes.
Yes he would.

I'm glad I saw this after my brother came home.

Alive.

8. Alive, and in one piece, I assume? Good for him. And you.
And the rest of your family.

Do NOT let him go back.

10. I don't think Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders
will LET them send him back.

Gawd I miss living in Vermont.

I actually had politicians I was proud to vote for and who would stand up for me.

Like Dr. Dean did when he was my governor and continues to do in his new role.

11. He lives in Vermont? He's lucky, if he's NG. I think they are the most
likely state to block redeployment.

12. Yes, he does, and yes, he is lucky.
Vermont actually discussed seceding, you know.

I keep clicking my heels together and wishing I was home.

But when I open my eyes, I still see my neighbor Bubba's truck with the rebel flag in the rear window and the "Git-R-Dun" bumper sticker on the tailgate.

13. So move home. We're strongly considering it ourselves.
I left Vermont 40 years ago, and when I go back there, it feels like home.

Someday, I'll go home. You should also.

15. As soon as I can afford it, you betcha!
Did you say you grew up in the Northeast Kingdom, or central Vermont?

The NEK is still as remote and wild as it ever was, but they can't keep development out forever, unfortunately.

16. Yes, the NEK. Lunenburg. And the goddanm New Yorkers have found
the place, despite our best efforts to keep it hidden. God damn them. Camps on Maidstone Lake, for Christ's sake, which is about as in the middle of nowhere as you can get, are going for half a million bucks these days.

It used to be that people who lived in those towns could afford a camp "on the lake" if they had a few extra bucks, but no more.

I weep for my home.

2. Saw him live last summer and turned some at DU on to him
He signed his CD for me at the concert a two time grammy awarded musician.
Unbelievable tight band

The song still brings a tear:

20

When you're used up, where do you go
Soldier
Mother dry your eyes, there's no need to cry
I'm not a boy, it's what I signed up for

When you're used up, where do you go
Soldier
I can't take the heat, and I hardly sleep anymore
What'd we come here for

Standing out here in the desert
Trying to protect an oil line
I'd really like to do my job but
This ain't the country that I had in mind
They call this a war on terror
I see a lot of civilians dying
Mothers, sons, fathers and daughters
Not to mention some friends of mine
Some friends of mine

Was supposed to leave last week
Promises they don't keep anymore
Got to fight the rich man's war

When you're used up, where do you go
Soldier
Late in 2004
Comes a knock at the door
It's no surprise
Mother dry your eyes

Mother don't you cry, no, no
Someone told you a lie
Yes they did, why
Mother don't you cry, oh no
Mother don't you cry

When you're used up, where do you go
Soldier

,...after all I've seen.

I hope his creative interpretation GRABS the human hearts that still hold onto the decency and dignity that civility and democracy demands.

however, his concerts are the most boring I've ever been too. Of course, I've only been to one of his....they might have been off that nite. And there was that little fact of him following John Hyatt, one of the most electric performers on stage. :headbang:

"Shoulda Been Home" to your Robert Cray 'buy' list.

The Robert Cray Band has been around for a looooong time.

Probably my favorite Cray song of all time is "The One In The Middle" on the "Sweet Potatoe Pie" CD. You can listen to the first few bars of that cut here.

One In The Middle Lyrics
The Robert Cray Band

Sometimes at night
When I close my eyes
I see three women
All standing in a line
The one on the left
She took my heart
The one on the right
Said she wanted to be free

But the one in the middle
I still love her
And I wonder
Does she ever think of me?

In my mind
I've been to a thousand places
When I walk down the street
I stare into a thousand faces
The flame of love
Once shined so brightly
Now it's just
A slow-burning memory

But the one in the middle
I still love her
Oh, and I wonder
Does she ever think of me?

Maybe, she wouldn't even care
No, that's ok
It's all in a dream
It's all in a dream, anyway

But the one in the middle
Oh, I still love her
And I wonder, does she ever think of me?

SOLO

But the one in the middle
Ohhhhh, I still love her
And I wonder, does she ever think of me?
