Clark: "Don't let Bush and Co. off the hook!"
Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 05:31 PM by Clarkie1
Clark was blogging today at DailyKos and CCN about how Democrats can and must win in 06' (he is doing a lot of work for candidates around the country). Here are two of his responses to bloggers...one on foreign policy and the other one domestic policy.

Submitted by Wes Clark on July 14, 2006 - 4:02pm.

In the military we understand the concept of accountability. If you aren't up to the job, you get "relieved" - fired. Democrats have to hammer home the Republicans failures on national security and foreign policy. Then the American people will fire them. But too often, Dems excuse the Republican failures. I hear phrases like, "China's responsiblity on North Korea..." or, "It's up to the Iraqis"

Listen, the US is the preeminent power in the world. When you're president of the United States, there's almost nothing you can't affect in some way, more that you can shape, and somethings you can control. Don't let Bush and Co. off the hook! It's not being disrespectful - it's being true to the American way of Democracy! Especially, when the country is at war!

Clark on domestic issues Democrats must "hammer home":

You can't always judge an economy by its statistics! We may have growth and relatively high employment, but there's a lot of long term unemployment and underemployment, and the distribution of income is getting badly skewed. We need to raise minimum wage, provide additional means for the 46 million uninsured Americans to get health insurance, and provide high-quality preschools to every child in America. And we need to put our tax expenditures into things like alternative and renewable energy, put in place a carbon-trading effort to address global warming, and place renewed emphasis on rebuilding our infrastructure.

7. did anyone else have difficulty getting to the CCN site?
It was crawling slow for me, so I missed it. Didn't realize it was also on Daily Kos -- Catherine Grunden's email didn't say anything about that. I emailed her suggesting that she upgrade her servers, and if they needed a consultant, hire Ben Burch!
