14. That was my first thought too....
Why attack a band? Maybe it was because of the Loud-n-Proud album (also referred to as "the Peacock album)?

3. "I pulled into Nazareth / I was feelin' 'bout half-past dead..."
Etc.

The news from the Middle East this week has been essentially horrifying.

I would feel a little better about a resolution if bloodthirsty powermongers and oil thieves were not in charge of U.S. foreign policy.

6. That's a shame. "Love Hurts" is one of my favorite songs
On a more serious note, is Nazareth a town or a region in the Holy Land? From what you say, it sounds more like a town. I'm trying not to think of the orgasmic reaction of Pat Robertson et al, to every update on this story.

20. Population about 60,000
according to Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazareth which I guess isn't a bad-sized town.

I think the value of it alledgedly being J.C.'s old neighborhood will probably count for more with the Robertson crowd, though. Yeah, apocalyptigasms.

17. They have the best local news bureau in my town, sad to say
The worst thing about Fox is that, in my experience, their "hard" news is actually pretty good. They get good reporters out there and actually do reporting. It's the blowhard anchors and pundits that screw the station up. They also have really strong investigative reporting in most local markets that puts the big 3 networks to shame. I hate that fact.

One other praise (choke) of Fox: they (like CNN) do their investigation and confirming from their dateline, rather than doing it by phone in New York and then flying to Kerplakistan to get that dateline for the report. I wish the other networks would follow that lead.

21. Oh, that's terrible.
I hope the C.F. Martin guitar factory didn't get hit. I'd hate to see those overrated but crappy Taylors dominating the market via the absence of Martin as a player.

On a more serious note, of course this is terrible. Lives are lost, flames are fanned, and all because we let a faux-hillbilly antichrist destroy our government and install a neocon dictatorship. And now Newtler "Pumpkinhead 666" Gingrich is spouting his "WW3," nonsense. Someone politely remind that fascist assclown, without going all Gavrilo Princip on him, that the reason the world is going to hell in a handbasket is because of what he started in 1994. Gingrich needs to be held responsible and accountable for this shit.

37. Them's fightin' words :)
Martins USED to be good guitars, if you found one in a closet or attic that your father owned..now they look, feel and sound like they are made out of the same material they make countertops with, terrible strings as well..

Granted Taylors are not perfect but they do make some incredible guitars or which I am a proud owner - I wish they made fewer of them.. once any of them started pumping guitars out then the quality always goes downhill..

Tho I still don't want to see Martin get shocked and awed :)

Can't we just all PLAY along? :)

(07-16) 13:59 PDT JERUSALEM, Israel (AP) --

Rockets fired from Lebanon exploded in the Israeli town of Afula and Upper Nazareth late Sunday, the military said, showing a range farther south than previous barrages.

The two towns are about 25 miles south of the Lebanese border, about the same distance as Haifa, which was hit earlier Sunday with a rocket that killed eight people.

The military said Migdal Haemek, Givat Ella and Nahalal were also hit in the latest barrage. The military said there were no immediate reports of casualties.

Upper Nazareth is a Jewish town next to historical Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. The population of Nazareth is made up of Muslim and Christian Arabs who are Israeli citizens.
