10. They were on CNN a few minutes ago
debating Hillary and Gore's comments and Begala said he agreed . I didn't hear it all but he didn't back down.

3. That's unfair going all the way back to '94 and quoting Newt
I loved that defense.

They are really scared. I see it in their faces. They hear the horses coming and they don't know which way to run.

17. Dean for one.. Not just mentioning the "culture of corruption",
but actually calling for the end of it.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=147014&mesg_id=147014

It's looking like Wednesday is going to be a full court press by the Dems.

16. They say "nothing is a powerful as an idea whose time has come".
That might well apply to the recent Gore speech.

He analyzed the problems comprehensive, spoke in a plain language and then, most importantly, specific the steps that could lead us out this horrible nightmare.

13. I know frazzled isn't spelled correctly...
Torie looked like she just got out of bed and was trying hard to stick to the party line and trying to hold back her anger. She thought Begala was going to back down. Fooled me once shame on ...

9. He mentioned Newt's "plantation" quote
They didn't want to hear it - "So now you're going back to 1994." He did stress that Hillary said the exact same thing on CNN a year to so ago, and no one said boo. That's it's okay if she's talking to a white man, but not before a group of blacks.

11. Nice of Begala to agree. Would've been nicer if he'd spoken up long ago
Someone else has to stick his/her neck out first, it would seem.

20. I agree with that. It's a mistake to "diss" a speaker who finally
steps up in our defense just because he/she didn't always do so in the past. Support is good. Accept it when it's offered. But, in the back of your mind, you might retain the memory of their two sides.

19. Begala is sort of a luke warm Dem. However , if he supported
Gore's remarks, he feels that it is now safe to do so. He might be weak but he isn't stupid.

23. No, he's definitely not stupid. But he's no partisan, either.
He's spent too much time over the past couple of years pounding on Dean and other Democrats. It's not fairness, either, it's 'going along to get along' on CNN. Well, whatever his reasoning today, it's nice that he actually spoke up with a positive remark.

Reminds me of the day when Dean made wolfie slink away after he was beaten back down.

22. Yes, it seems that yesterday was dems kick ass day.
Now if only they don't all run away from their words and try to "explain" what they meant, or worse yet, apologize (Durbin). That has been the problem all along, and maybe, just maybe they've started to learn from it.
