(Civilian casualties) Think about this for a second:
Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 02:39 PM by originalpckelly
The people who are trying to kill civilians have killed 13 civilians.
The people who are trying not to kill civilians have 208 civilians.

Does anyone else see something wrong with this?

Correction, 208 is the number.

1. Both are wrong and horrible
One is just deeper in the shit than the other. How can the people entrusted with the "Promised Land" be such violent killers?

2. I am so sick of both sides.
These people have had chances up the wazoo to fix these problems, to get over their hatred, and give their children a better future. Yet no one can. Despicable.

5. The "Promised Land" is wasted on these modern day fanatics, on both sides.

Cornelius: "Beware the beast man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death."

4. That's not really news
Israel has had more more killed civilians than the Palestinian militants have for quite some time now. Which is really one of the major reasons why this violence is never ending. Israel has all the power (thanks to the US taxpayer), and the Palestinian militants are very resentful of that, so they do what they can to get back at Israel, but are simply unable to kill as many people. They just don't have the means, and thus resort to suicide bombings and rocket attacks. Then after weeks or months of "picking at Israel's scab" if you will, Israel finally has enough and does a major attack and kills even MORE innocent people, which further enrages the Palestinians, which then start to pick at the scab again after Israel is back to resting, until the next big attack, etc etc etc until the end of time.

6. Extremists are good at cyclical violence
It takes little effort and zero thought...except how to blame the other side for the deaths they're about to suffer.

7. But isn't Israel supposed to be protecting innocent lives?
Why would they be killing 16 times as many civilians if they were protecting the Lebanese?

10. Cuz they can...
What can I say? They don't really care about the civilian deaths, so long as the terrorist are dead too. It's the same for every war. Bush doesn't really care about the 30 or so thousand Iraqi deaths due to the war. They have bigger bombs, therefore inflict bigger casualties. Then they blame the other side for "starting it" anyway.

8. Don't confuse things with facts.
Let it roll! Self defense. Besides, the lives of the 208 are worth less, remember?

9. The people who are trying to kill civilians have killed 221 civilians.
The people who support them are blaming their targets for shooting back in self-defence.

That was their strategy from the beginning.

12. Convenient.
One side isn't responsible for their actions at all.

11. Yeah, it's some phony bullshit.
Apologists for the Iraq War having been using this excuse since the beginning. "It's OK when we blow up civilians because we've got guidance systems."
