Poll question: Did your newspaper report on the Gore speech?
Man, I am pissed that my Rocky Mountain News (Scrips-Howard) continues to selectively omit stories that are anti-Bush.

2. Get my news from National Radio here, but very relevant question
that the televised corporate media is COMPLICIT, is no question.
That the NY Times was complicit, is no question.

I'm curious to know whether US print media in general are better of in terms of independence.

Power

White House supreme

REPEATEDLY, West Virginia’s Sen. Robert C. Byrd has warned that the Bush White House is amassing ever-stronger power over America, treating Congress and the Supreme Court as puppets — thereby damaging the heart of America’s democracy, the checks and balances between executive, legislative and judicial branches.

Monday, former Vice President Al Gore voiced the same alarm in a Martin Luther King Day address at Constitution Hall in Washington — supported, remarkably, by hard-right Republican Bob Barr, the former Georgia congressman who has become a White House critic.

Gore said America’s Bill of Rights and personal freedoms are menaced by “a truly breathtaking expansion of executive power.” He cited the Bush administration’s secret wiretapping of phone calls and e-mails, imprisonment of suspects without charge, provision of false information to Congress, torture of foreign detainees, and other abuses.

As for domestic surveillance, Gore said much about it remains hidden — but “what we do know about this pervasive wiretapping virtually compels the conclusion that the president of the United States has been breaking the law repeatedly and persistently.” More...

11. Couldn't answer poll - I wouldn't really call it a "yes" -
The title is "White House accuses Gore of hypocrisy" - it's not on the speech so much as on the WH's reaction.

What do you expect from a paper know as "The Arizona Republican"?

18. That is today's news. What about yesterday's?
Is the Arizona Republican a morning paper? If so, then they may not have reported it in today's paper.

I fully expect the Rocky Mt. News to report it tomorrow - but with the headline "White House Pisses on Gore".

21. Yes - it's an a.m. paper.
There wasn't an article on Monday - today's front page repeats yesterday's article title: "White House accuses Gore of hypocrisy on spy efforts."

I guess just in case we missed it yesterday??

17. It was not even mentioned once in New Orleans
I didn't see it in the news and it never made the newspaper. All the articles I could find (but one) are about republicans.
