Re: Chimpy groping Merkel. If it were Clinton, would she have
reacted differently?

I think so.

Big Dog, however, wouldn't be that crude.

Bush, for some reason, thinks people ACTUALLY like him. :D

1. Dim Son is delusional. He actually believes that he was elected.

2. The sovereign difference
In a diplomatic event, where he symbollizes all americans and she symbollizes all germans,
to come up behind her and grope her, like groping a sovereign state, and like a person in rebellion
against injust occupation of her shoulders, her intensity at not being dominated by the demeaning
war culture, all in a short shrug... good on you, Chanceller merkel.

3. His actions toward her are very clear. She is a woman thus
he thinks he is superior and can touch her whenever he wants and she will submit. His actions are an insult to the poor little weak woman who needs comfort in the trials she is taking on as leader of Germany. This is all about sexism and authoritarian males.

4. I think it's about drunkenness, too
because I can think of no other excuse for his boorish behavior on the whole trip. I think Putin started him drinking and he didn't stop until he got back under the control of his staff in the WH.

He's been dry for nearly 2 years, IMO. This week marked a serious change in behavior and alcohol is the likeliest explanation.

There has been no apology. That is what is shocking and disheartening. There will be diplomatic fallout. He made a serious enemy in Merkel.

5. His action was vile and inappropriate.
However I've seen the video and the Merkel's grimace, I think, is an expression of surprise. She does seem to smile once she realizes who's been doing the groping.

The Pretzel has no sense of what behavior is appropriate for somebody in his position. He behaves like a peasant would at a banquet held by Louis XIV.
