http://hammeroftruth.com/2006/07/18/good-touch-bad-touch-presidential-style/How stupid? Well....
Massimo Pigliuci, who writes Rationally Speaking as well as being a professor at SUNY Stony Brook asked, How stupid is Bush, really? The answer, my friend, is infinitely stupid. Stupid without boundries. Dr. Pigliucci was frustrated by Bush’s (then anticipated, now actual) veto of the stem cell research funding bill, because it demonstrates such monumental stupidity. There’s every reason to be frustrated. As the wife of a Type 1 diabetic and as a human being, I’m outraged. I’m not sure that this is where Bush demonstrates intelligence or lack thereof, though. This has more of the smell of Karl, playing to the base, and what’s left of the base is pretty intellectually limited.
Still, I’m not in the ’Bush is crazy like a fox’ school of thought. I think he’s really a moron. I doubt he’s made many real decisions as president. Maybe he thinks he’s The Decider, but even that sounds more like someone whispering in his ear, saying, ’You’re the one who decides. Don’t let the public tell you what to do. It’s up to you. Here’s what you’ve decided...’ Just like his belief that history will vindicate him. Can’t you just hear that pep talk going on? Someone is no doubt assigned to list all the leaders in history who were reviled in their own times but have come to be regarded as astute or even great and repeat them to him every so often. Only thing is...Bush isn’t going to make that list.
If you had any doubts about Bush’s intellectual prowess, hasn’t his bufoonery at the G8 Summit put an end to them? First there was the Pig Roast comment and then he recommended that Russia should aspire to become more like Iraq. If that weren’t enough, after attacking the Chancellor of Germany with an unasked for massage...or something, he solved the problem of the current mayhem in the Middle East by suggesting that, ’We got to get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit.’ And he said it with his mouth full. While chewing.
