My Letter to John Stossel and ABC News on Global Warming

John,
You keep saying a lot of scientists don't believe mankind is contributing to global warming (yet you fail to give names) you also fail to mention that out of over 900 peer reviewed articles on the subject 100% of them said mankind was a factor in global warming and NOT 1 peer reviewed article takes your side. This is overwhelming proof that your take on global warming is a dying relic hung onto by only a hand full of people who are either academically dishonest or stupid. Also the National Academy of Sciences takes the opposite side as you. Why do you NEVER bring up the findings of the VAST MAJORITY of scientists in your reporting John? What are you thinking???? Just remember your propaganda could HURT people including your children and grand children! If you don’t care about the world and it’s people fine but I would think you would at least care about your children.

I use to like you a lot and loved your shows back in the 80's and 90's but I no longer trust you, which is very disappointing to me. I thought you were one of the good guys and now it appears something happened to you. Perhaps you just care about selling books? I don't know who is paying you or why you sold out to the corporations but it's clear you are no longer honest in your reporting. That is very sad for me to see.

I hope you will somehow find it in your heart to look at those 900 peer reviewed articles and the findings of the National Academy of Sciences and educate yourself. It's not to late for you to get back on track and do the right thing John. If you do I will most certainly be impressed that you retained character over the lure of money and power. Think of your kids and grand kids John! Think of them!

I would like to come back as a viewer to ABC News but that will take a at least an acknowledgement by John Stossel that those 900 peer reviewed articles might be right, and him wrong. It takes a big man to admit when you are wrong. Lets see if Stossel is a Man of honor and character or just another sell out scum bag?

Stossel is a walking, talking embarrassment to ABC News, and it's beyond me why the company continues to front for him. He has a special contract that allows him lie on the air, doesn't hold him accountable for anything he says or does no matter how wrong (or "outrageous"), and he has his own special set of editorial rules for his pieces. The only thing I can think of is that he's got pictures of Roone Arledge having sex with a chicken or something similarly damning, because there's no reason ABC should kowtow to Stossel's peculiar brand of "journalism."

I know where I would love to stick that jousting stick! You are probably right, but after reading Lori David's column I just felt like writing a letter to Stossel and telling him what I thought. You never know, perhaps all the facts in the letter and my appeal to their human side might just give them pause and make them hate themselves a little.

The first is just to support using "give me a break" at least a few times throughout, as the others have already suggested.

The second is a bit off-topic, but if it's going to ABC News as well, you could mention Stossel's latest Townhall column titled, "Think your cousin's cute? Relax."

On Edit: Just a quick grammatical correction as well: "...that will take <at> least an acknowledgement by John Stossel that those 900 peer reviewed articles might be right, and he wrong" would be correct ("those articles" might be right, and "he" might be wrong), though I'd personally rewrite it, since it sounds kind of stilted to me. ie. I'd write, "...articles might be right, and he might be wrong."
