One more good reason not to fly Spirit Airlines:
From this banner ad I saw a few seconds ago, it looks like they've already made an endorsement in 2008:

1. That's really strange.
Their website doesn't explain why it's called a "Jeb sale." The flag motif makes it damn suspicious, though. And they are based in Florida.... http://www.spiritair.com/welcome.aspx?pg=salesinformation&number=182

4. Glad I saw it, actually.
We're going to Disney World in October, and were due to book our airfare tomorrow morning. We were going to fly from Atlantic City International to McCoy Orlando on Spirit, but now I think we're going to switch to AirTran from Philadelphia International instead.

And I did E-Mail them to let them know about my decision.

6. Copy of my E-Mail:
"I just saw your banner ad endorsing Jeb Bush for President in 2008.

We are going to our travel agent tomorrow morning to book our airfares from Atlantic City to Orlando. We had intended to use Spirit. However, since you are endorsing Jeb Bush, I will not indirectly contribute to his campaign by giving money to you.

Instead, we will most likely be taking AirTran from Philadelphia to Orlando. The greater cost will be worth it to me."

9. It seems very odd that any private company
would overtly promote a politician in its advertising. And airlines, in particular, tend to stay as publicly neutral as possible because they are so heavily regulated; they can't afford to offend either party too much -- or, for that matter, potential passengers, considering the competition in that industry. If that ad isn't referring to Jeb Bush, what does it refer to? They have a lotta 'splainin' to do. I know a few pilots who recently went to work for them; if I run into any of them I will definitely inquire.

5. They want to get all the money out of the gays that they can
...before Jeb puts us into camps. :)

Hell, why don't they just do like was suggested in "Americathon," and put all the gays together in one state. I'll even take Montana.

7. Very bizarre
It appears that they started with A and are now to number 10 of the "named sales", which is J.

Here's something I found about them through google.

10. But why "Jeb"? Lots of names start with "J." Pretty fishy, IMO.
Of course, there's always this airline: http://www.skyhighairlines.com

12. It absolutely looks like a ploy to support Jeb to me
even if they do have a habit of "naming" their sales. There are, as you say, alot of J names they could have picked and they certainly could have picked less obvious graphics in any event.

Pandering in the highest.

13. The coincidence of '2008' and 'Jeb' in a ripoff of a campaign logo
is no coincidence at all.

11. It's a direct lift of the "Bush" from B/C 2004 ads

And all those "W '04" stickers that are floating around.

The connection with his brother's capaign materials and the prominent placement of "2008" makes this an overt political ad, in my not so humble opinion.

Between the two graphics, I'm off Spirit, regardless of the ridiculously low fares.

edit: I'll tell you what you can do with your extra 6 inches...
