"Anti-terrorists" declare terrorist sympathizers "Legitimate Targets"

"Anti-Terrorist" Americans declare Terrorist Sympathizers "Legitimate Targets".

Examples of this abound, oddly enough, here on DU:

In other words, civilians are legitimate targets.
War is peace.
Back to feudalism and the Old Testament.

A corollary to this distressing mental syndrome -- and it is a syndrome, on par with male chimpanzees eating their young -- is the majority of Americans (especially opinion columnists) declaring that
"the fight for Mideast democracy" has been undermined by terrorists because, in supporting groups like Hezbollah, "the Lebanese people have proven that they don't deserve democracy."

(Marion Barry is often cited as another example of people not deserving democracy. Oddly, the US and Israel as a whole are rarely cited as counterexamples, perhaps because there is not a country that has the power to project force into our "broken" democracies.)

1. Great, it's perfect strategy: A TERRORIST is whomever or whatever

the MOST POWERFUL NATIONS consider THEIR (not necessarily The People's) ENEMY.

This is such B.S. when both the USA (in Iraq) and Israel (in Gaza and Lebanon) is also guilty of (State Sponsored) Terrorism, i.e., killing innocent civilians and infrastructure.

This reminds me of that song by a folk singer who croons, "I guess we'll have to bomb ourselves?"

2. "The way I look at it, the more that die the better the world will be."
Another example from the same thread. I replied:

Turn (your) Statement Around -- and you'll begin to understand.

"(US/Israel/whomever) killed 220 (of my fellow Iraqi Arm soldiers), 18 people (from my home town in Lebanon).

They killed three guys I knew personally. The way I look at it, the more that die the better the world will be. Do you think I could EVER have sympathy for them? Never."

3. Locking.
Please don't reopen a previously locked thread, or continue a discussion from another thread as flamebait.

Thanks for your consideration.
