When you have bands of armed thugs, murdering people at random on the streets of Baghdad, where U.S. forces are supposed to be in control, and the deaths are beginning to climb to one hundred a day, and a steady stream of rockets are being fired at the Green Zone, and the Iraqi congress is throwing up their hands in abject frustration, ready to disband, then can there be any doubt, even a shred to the most ardent of Bush supporters that the administration's policies are total failures, and unless we want to prolong the inevitable to just try and save what political face, which at this point would be laughable, if it weren't so serious, at the expense of more American servicepeople's lives, so that the Bushies can spin this disaster into some kind of twisted victory, isn't all of this a clear sign that we need a swift and immediate pullout of all troops, and appeal to the U.N. to negotiate a settlement between the Shia, the Sunni and the Kurds?
America has never been able to admit failure. History has repeated itself, and before long, we are going to get kicked out. It's going to look like the end of the Vietnam war, with personnel scrambling to get the hell out of Dodge.
