Blue rental car companies?

In a couple of months, we will be traveling to San Diego. I will never again use Enterprise rent a car. Thrifty has a car (convertible) I'd love to rent for a coastal drive or two. Any idea if this is a good company? Anyone know of a blue rent-a-car company out there? Thanks for any help.

2. Enterprise is true-blue rethuglican!

They're based across the state from me, in Saint Louis. They donate so much for rethug causes, it's like Rupert Murdoch owned them. I don't happen to remember who actually owns it, but they are as red as one can get. I cannot in good conscience give them any more of my hard-earned money. It's too much like cutting my own throat. Hope this helps,

3. damn...that's too bad...

They are about the only ones that will pick you up and drop you off--which is becoming an ever more important consideration for me, at least...

I'll be interested to see what response you get on the other companies...:shrug:

4. Plus, I discovered a few clauses in their rental agreements

A couple of years back. They used to, and still may charge you rental for the time the car is in the shop for repairs from an accident.

I'll never go near them again!

8. FWIW, they all have that clause

ten, maybe fifteen, years ago I had a little boo-boo with a rental car, and I didn't have the loss/damage waver. I was especially interested in the result of that clause, figuring I'd get reamed but good and they'd charge me for the time the car was out of service. Turns out, they charged me for the time it was in the shop -- about an hour, so that charge was about a dollar-fifty, literally. (While they replaced the plastic bumper I'd put a hole in.)

Back to your point, though; puts me in a bind since Enterprise has always treated me well and they're very convenient when I need a car locally. Hmph.

As this table says, a lot of car related industries seem red. I dunno why, with gas prices doing their jig and the interstate being sold to foreign countries. =/

6. Hooray for Working Assets!

I changed my long distance service to them about a month ago, after watching the ATT chairman make a fool of the Senate subcommittee investigating their consumer privacy directives. Thanks for the list, DireStrike!

But, i don't know what to think about McDonalds. The site you gave listed it as a red corperation, yet my aunt is like "I try to be nice about McDonalds even though their food is gross, because the heiress (or whatev, someone with alot of $$ associated with McDonalds) gave alot of $$ to the democrats"

It was worth asking about. Thanks to all for your replies. I guess there are no blue car rental companies. I still won't use Enterprise, but I won't feel bad about using Thrifty. Thanks again,

10. I couldn't find any blue car rental companies, either.

But there are blue hotel chains. Marriott is red, Hyatt is blue. Loews is the best if you are lucky enough to find a decent rate.
I take the metro/train in major cities like Philly and Boston, but when it's necessary to rent a car, I don't think there are any good choice.
