Beginning July 20, 2006, the Pentagon’s Washington Headquarters Services will assist media organizations with September 11th fifth anniversary documentary efforts every Thursday at 1 p.m. until August. The assistance will include the opportunity to film background footage, memorials and interviews with survivors.Interested media should contact the Washington Headquarters Services communications department at (703) 614-1771 no later than noon the Tuesday prior to the Thursday they wish to participate.

WHAT: One-on-one interviews with 9/11 survivors at the Pentagon Memorial in Washington, DC.
WHEN: Weds., Aug. 2nd. Exact time to be determined. Journalists should plan to spend at least a half-day. If there is significant media interest another day may be added later in August.
WHERE: Journalists should arrive at the Pentagon at least an hour before the scheduled start time so that they can screen themselves and their equipment through security. They should bring their media credentials and two other types of photo identification. Journalists must be escorted through the Pentagon and can only film or use recording devices in designated areas.
DESCRIPTION: Journalists will have the opportunity for several 5 to 7 minute one-on-one interviews with 9/11 survivors that may possibly include U.S. military and government personnel, first-responders, fire, police, and family members. All participants will be given b-roll footage and photos of the Pentagon and its Memorials as well as archive footage from September 11, 2001.
