13. The asterisk was for the foot note
that would talk about the fact that many thought he stole or was handed the office, not that he was elected. It would say that he was the first to have a full four year term, never having been vp (and getting it because of the death of the duly elected President) or being clearly elected.

14. He got his second historical asterisk in 2004
when the election results were challenged by the House. In the historical record, * does not have a clean win for either election. I love it that Trudeau continually reminds people of that.
