Ignorance and prejudice And fear walk hand in hand
From the album "Moving Pictures," Rush, circa 1982.

The night is black
Without a moon
The air is thick and still
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torch lit hill

Features distorted in the flickering light
The faces are twisted and grotesque
Silent and stern in the sweltering night
The mob moves like demons possessed
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right
Confident their ways are best

The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill

They say there are strangers who threaten us
In our immigrants and infidels
They say there is strangeness too dangerous
In our theaters and bookstore shelves
That those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves

Quick to judge
Quick to anger
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand...

2. that's kind of spooky
And I'm speaking on two levels.

First, how eerie those lyrics seem right now.

Second, the  with Bush seconding it. Spooky.

Well done. :)

But it struck me funny... again not exactly what I mean... :)

What a goofy president we have. Goofy, yet profoundly dangerous.

Hope all is well with you and yours!

8. I figured they had to hire professional posters sometimes :)
Just kidding.

That's a very noble type of work you do.

:applause:

I was just sitting here, when I should be sleeping, thinking about instant runoff voting. Doesn't everyone?

Isn't that the answer to our problems?

I could vote for the candidate I really believe in, but if she loses, my vote would count for my least objectioniable choice.

I used to associate instant runoff voting with Lani Guanier (sp?) and some peculiar sounding ideas. But the more I think about IRV, the more it makes a LOT of sense.

9. It does make a lot of sense
Too bad we can't use that in the Presidential race.
