Political Canvassing today - Observations
Amazing how those people who clearly have a need for government intervention, are those who do not vote or do not care to vote.

I walked through a neighborhood that is in dire need of new sidewalks, new roads, and a number of other public services and lo and behold...absolutely abysmal registration statistics and voter turnout stats.

Just amazing...

And to top it all off...one of my fellow campaigners was told that all candidates were corrupt and therefore he was for "voting them all out"...but won't vote...so it is a great big circle jerk...

Granted a lot of the things I saw today are local political issues, but for crying out loud...the politicians who want to garner these folks votes would be better off fixing their sidewalks and doing stuff that these people can see on a daily basis so that when it comes to election time...they can identify with something tangible and reward good public servants with their votes...

But since they don't vote...their issues are ignored.
