Wearing 2 hats at the same time, is it a new tactic

Or has it been used before?

Katherine Harris - Head of Bush Campaign in Florida AND certified the vote

Ken Blackwell - Head of Bush Campaign in Ohio AND certified the vote

Now, my question is are there other countries that have this problem or has this been used at some time in the past?

Stalinist Era Soviet Union. Nazi Era Germany. Fascist Era Italy. Falangist (Franco) Era Spain. Present day Libya. Liberia under Taylor. Any place, in any era, which found it convenient to pretend to have an elected democracy but inconvenient to allow the votes to actually count.

We let them get away with it ~ we should have had Democrats going crazy in Florida and in Ohio!

But we always want to "do the correct thing" and be the good guy.
