I have a silly question about getting on the front page of DU

I have been here for awhile. My posts often go to the greatest page, but never once got on the homepage. The only reason I mention this is that often I see posts that are a late version of what I already wrote, posts that have already gone to the greatest pages with very high recommendations, and then a late poster gets their post about the identical thing on the front page.

This happened again this weekend.

I think it would be exciting to get a post on the front page. It would just be a small nod.

(And, I know this is inconsequential and trite. I was just wondering).
