"Making war for peace is like fucking for virginity"

in Central Park late 60s. My New York cousins took me to a peace march.

don't give them any ideas
RWers are some sick pervs.

Great sign. At all the protests I've been to, and that was a lot, I was very impressed with the cleverness of people's signs and slogans.

5. Pacifism is pro-fascism
You can support peace, that's fine. But when you say that bombs cannot create peace or that war is never necessary...that's just a show of support to fascism in my opinion.

-In world war 2, without bombs, war ships, and guns our country would not exist. And the world would be run by Japanese Imperialists and/or Nazis.
=Without the Civil War, slavery would have never been abolished.
-Without the Revolution, America would never have been created, and the world would most likely still be ruled by kings.
-Without the Battle of Tours, the Muslims would have taken over all of Europe. And the age of enlightment and the Renaissance would never have occured.

War is a necessary evil. The many wars of the past dictate the lives of our present. And the wars we fight today will dictate our future.

War sometimes is needed to expel an evil. Because sometimes that is all people will understand. In this world there will always be somebody willing to snatch away your rights and take away your voice. If a bully at the school yard demands you lunch money, you can give it to him and he will probably leave you alone. But what about tomorrow or the next day? He'll take your money every single day by using the threat of violence. How do you stop a bully? It is the same way you stop a dictator...you stand up and fight back. You need to use violence (or the threat of violence).

We have not reached an era of civilization where every human being works with the philosophy to better all of mankind. But even when we advance to that era, we will still see violence, fighting, and war. It seems war is a part of civilization that we may never be able to abolish. Any dream of a world of peace, love, and understanding with no violence of any kind sounds more like Disney World than actual reality. It's a fantasy world that will never be realized.

10. Of course the problem now is that we are the bully,
or on the side of the bully. It's up to the grownup to take charge and pacify the situation.

After the bully takes the lunch money of a few kids, does the teacher go out and beat up the bully? No, the teacher has other, more grown-up methods to deal with bad behavior, just as the strongest nations ought to deal with terrorists and rebels by diplomacy and law rather than by going to war against them.

8. Oh, yeah! Well, she asked for it! Just ask Condi and the IDF.
Not to mention all the politicians that assured us that Saddam was just asking for it.

9. Nope, you can't bomb the world into peace
Bomb the World
Armageddon version!

I don't understand the reason why
You tellin' us all that we need to unify
Rally round the flag
And beat the drums of war
Sing the same old songs
Ya know we heard 'em all before

You tellin' me it's unpatriotic
But I call it what I see it
When I see it's idiotic
The tears of one mother
Are the same as any other
Drop food on the kids
While you're murderin' their fathers
But don't bother to show it on CNN
Brothers and sisters don't believe them
It's not a war against evil
It's really just revenge
Engaged by the poorest by the same rich men
Fight terrorists wherever they be found
But why you not bombing Tim McVeigh's hometown?
You can say what you want propaganda television
But all bombing is terrorism

We can chase down all our enemies
Bring them to their knees
We can bomb the world to pieces
But we can't bomb it into peace
Whoa we may even find a solution
To hunger and disease
We can bomb the world to pieces
But we can't bomb it into peace

911
Fire in the skies
Many people died
And no one even really knows why
They tellin' lies of division and fear
We yelled and cried
No one listened for years
But like, "who put us here?"
And who's responsible?
Well, there's no debatin'
Cause if they ask me I say
It's big corporations
World trade organisation
Tri-lateral action
International sanctions, Satan
Seems like it'll be an endless price tag
Of wars tremendous
And most disturbingly
The death toll is so horrendous
So I send this to those
Who say they defend us
Send us into harm's way
We should all make a remembrance that
This is bigger than terrorism
Blood is blood is blood and um
Love is true vision
Who will listen?
How many songs it takes for you to see
You can bomb the world to pieces
You can't bomb it into peace

We can chase down all our enemies
Bring them to their knees
We can bomb the world to pieces
But we can't bomb it into peace
Whoa we may even find a solution
To hunger and disease
We can bomb the world to pieces
But we can't bomb it into peace

Power to the peaceful
And I say, love to the people y'all
Power to the peaceful
And I say, love to the people y'all
