While Israel is not interested in opening a front against Syria, the IDF will respond harshly and with its full might if President Bashar Assad decides to attack Israel, a high-raking IDF officer in the Northern Command told The Jerusalem Post Sunday

...

Defense officials told the Post last week that they were receiving indications from the US that America would be interested in seeing Israel attack Syria.

1. As soon as I heard Syria's troops have been notified
to raise their level of readiness...Well, needless to say, there's going to be an "incident" at the far northern tip of Israel. And then we'll have another chicken/egg argument.

14. I Don't Understand the Fuss About This
If your enemy is staging a huge bombing campaign next door in a country you recently occupied, and everyone is talking about WWIII, how could your army NOT be on alert?

I realize this is being trumpeted all over the media, but AFAIC it is no indication at all of a Syrian attack. More a question of whether Syria feels threatened itself. Or it might mean a move to reoccupy Lebanon to prevent an Israeli occupation.

18. I don't think there's a fuss about Syria's actions
the fuss is about how the US might compose the requisites for expanded war.

None of this happening by accident.

5. nukes ar not going to be used
and odds are Syria will not become engaged. There's far too much free floating hysteria around these parts.

7. Few things
Hysteria - if one looks at the current state of affairs, and recalls that there were many people who warned about the results of our actions, one should recall that they were also called hysterical.

Odds - Odds imply chance. To believe that things are happening as a matter of chance is to ignore evidence that is freely available.

Syria - They have no desire to become engaged because they know that the inevitable result will be the complete destruction of their civilian infrastructure, that's what we do. But that's what a false flag operation is for.

I understand you have a hopeful vision of how this will play out. You should hold on to that optimism. We are not all the same, and my diagnosis of events is, in my opinion, more realistic.

9. Only time will tell what the true intention is here, hopefully cooler
heads prevail and Iran and Syria do not fall for being sucked into this mess. The more innocent lives that are lost in Lebanon makes Israel look evil, I don't think this is going the way the PNAC would like, but it isn't over yet.

11. a false hope, not when the cooler heads should be from DC.
Unfortunately, those are an endangered species in a US admin bent on war, war by proxy and a war on humanity.

20. Expressed that way,
not the flase flag, makes it sound like something out of Monty Python which may infact be where this issue belongs.

13. Himmler would know what to do. Maybe Rumsfield could dress up a bunch of
Gitmo prisoners in Syrian uniform and "invade" Israel from Syria. Attack a radio station or something like that. It could be called Operation Rumsfield.

So that Germany did not officially seem the aggressor (which it was), Hitler needed an excuse for entering/attacking Poland. It was Heinrich Himmler who came up with the idea; thus the plan was code named Operation Himmler.

On the night of August 31, 1939, Nazis took an unknown prisoner from one of their concentration camps, dressed him in a Polish uniform, took him to the town of Gleiwitz (on the border of Poland and Germany), and then shot him. The staged scene with the dead prisoner dressed in a Polish uniform was supposed to appear as a Polish attack against a German radio station.

Hitler used the staged attack as the excuse to invade Poland.

15. I hope you're wrong.
Incidentally, were the Israeli soldiers captured on Lebanese or Israeli soil?

If they were captured on Lebanese soil, this whole attack was predicated on a false pretext.

16. Its difficult to know bcause there are plenty
of contradictory reports. It comes down to a matter of whom do you trust more. I've tried to do my own independent search and have gotten the perspectives of Fox News and CNN. I have kept up with the Al-Jazeera reporting but have been unable to find any reporting from Al-Manar. I suspect since Al-Manar is a Hezbollah run outlet, access to it has probably been filtered out. To me, that is probably what settles it. I know my government lies. I know my government uses the media to manufacture consent for its crimes. So I listen to what they have to say. And they all say one thing, lock step. Not only that, they keep repeating it over and over and over. That strikes me as odd. Why are they so neurotic about repeating it? Then I see that other sources who are biased in their reporting state the opposite. My question is, why can I not have access to all news sources. We're on the cusp of WWIII for god sakes, I want to know what is happening, I don't want to be told by some corp. newsreader.

19. No doubt about it.
That's why I wonder why more Israelis don't realize they're being used by their neo-con cabal just as we were. You don't have to look hard to see a pattern.
