2. It's not a stat
but I was listening to a call-in show a couple of years ago about global warming that had a Republican (presumably) apologist on to deny there was any proof that global warming existed.

They said there was no proof that increased carbon dioxide levels caused global warming. As questionable as that statement was, they then went on to list the "benefits" of carbon dioxide, including "that in fact, it may help prevent global freezing".

So, according to Republicans, carbon dioxide does not cause global warming, but it does "prevent" global "freezing".

Go figure. :eyes:

He is the head of NASA's institute studying climate change. Not only does he believe in global warming, the story shows how the political hacks in the Bush administration frequently rewrite the findings of scientists.
